B&B Haus Am See

Absolutely perfect place to stay!
-located very close to the train/bus station
-room was nice with an actual large queen bed
-balcony view was INCREDIBLE (attached)
-nice sized bathroom with stand up show
-breakfast was a little bit extra money (this is expected) and wasn't expensive considering the variety of options/coffee/and even fruit in late December

The hotel is located in Obertraun town, 5 minutes by car from Hallstatt or can access by boat. Hotel is attached to the lake. It's very good view.

Room is large, clean and comfortable. The parking fee has been collected to the city.

It's the good choice to avoid crowed and price in Hallstatt.

5/5 for the location. Perfect stay. We must remember that this is a village, so things will close early. The only observation I have is that the hotel should stock up their vending machines so that we need not go out for munchies and drinks. I would definitely rebook this hotel if back in Hallstatt based on its serene location.

Very good location at a lake front, directly next to a free public lake area with a cafe.

I had a single room with advertised 6m^2, but it was adequate and didn't feel small or uncomfortable. The bathroom was also new and clean.

The hotel has a beautiful terrace area facing the lake, with direct access to a private pier where you could jump into the lake or get a kayak from hotel owners to paddle.

Breakfast costs €15 and is adequate, but by no means extensive or elaborate like some big chain hotels.

There may be not much do do in Obertraun in the evening, and also not too many restaurant options. But the serene quietness instead of resort-like busy-ness like other ski town is itself another charm.

I see a lot of negative reviews here and I don’t understand it. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was great and priced better than most in the area. The owners were lovely and helpful.

My room was tiny but very nice. For 100€ a night right on the lake, what do you think you are going to get. This was a fabulous deal! My only complaint was that there weren’t any coffee or tea options in the hotel. You had to pay for the complete breakfast to have coffee or tea, you couldn’t pay for it separately. The breakfast was delicious and the view was amazing so I am still giving it 5 stars.

We were there on 24th -26th Oct for 2 nights. It was an amazing experience.

A nice lake view front of the b&b that peace and wonderful view for morning time and evening specially the amazing autumn colour forest it was being the time. That was an unforgetable moment to us.

Great location on lake Hallstatt. Though not in Hallstatt itself, Obertraun and this property have a great location, scenery, nearby food and drink, is quieter than Hallstatt, and only a quick bus ride or 3 mile walk to Hallstatt. This property is out of the hectic and more touristy town of Hallstatt itself. Great lake access with large patio and park next door. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Will be staying here again next time.

The location is top. You have everything on a short walking distance. The breakfast is so good and the view is amazing. The owners were kind and helpful.

Just what I was looking for. Austrian hospitality, on the water, next to the ferry at a reasonable price. This is not a five star hotel, but it is clean and comfortable with a killer view. The breakfast was good. So I give it five stars for being just what I was looking for.

Excellent location (view either to mountains or the lake), dedicated Owners, very helpful concerning the check-in when our train was late, beautiful breakfast in astonishing views! (one of the best Cappuccion's I've had). Hotel next to the park area/lake. Parking spots.
A bit pricey room for two (apr.147€/night excl.breakfast), but it was during high season.

Tiny, beautiful village, good bus transfer to Dachstein-Krippenstein or Hallstaat, short walk to train station, a few restaurants. Suggest you take the bus instead of the ferry, 3 times the price.

Wonderful place to stay - amazing view, close to bus and boat dock. Highly recommended. Added buffet breakfast is 13 euro and taste good. We had different breads, ham, liver spread/jam, yogurt, coffee/tea, egg, tomato, etc.

Nice hotel by the lake in quiet area near Obertraun Feriendorf train station. Cozy and clean, a bit small room. The hotel provides free voucher for bus ridings to & from the center of Hallstatt & tourist attractions.

Very nice hotel by the lake and close to train station. We got lake side room with lake view and balcony. Breakfast is very nice.

Beautiful stay with lake view and excellent service.

Rooms are extremely small, but service and location are top notch or the best in the location around. Parking is also available, but limited. The host is very friendly and kind.
