A GEM if you are interested in history. We enjoyed a wonderful tour by an enthusiastic guide. History really came to life in such a manner we did a second tour on our own. Also visited the gardens of the castle. Spend well over three hours visiting this wonderful place.

Nice caste to visit. We did not enter the museum exhibition due to lack of time.

We absolutely loved our visit to the castle. It is so interesting historically and everything is beautifully presented.
I very much recommend buying the audio guide if you don't speak German. It really adds to the experience.
Fascinating exhibits and the tragic story of Archduke Franz Ferdinand's death is well told. There is a wonderful insight into him as a person and as a loving husband and family man. We also loved hearing what happened to his family and seeing the wonderful photos.
The current peace tribute is very moving.
Fantastic value for money.
My 20 year old son also really enjoyed the visit.
Thanks very much for an amazing visit. I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Nice exhibition, nice Café, relaxing garden area. It's not exciting, but very calm, best if you look for something to wind down.

Lovely well kept palace with perfect garden and majestic trees, also the coffee shop hosted by a cheerful lady is a great spot to enjoy Austrian homemade cakes and fresh coffees. A must visit.

One of the best tours we have been on. We went for a private tour with a guide (Ruth) who explained everything incredible well. This helped us fully understand the life of Franz Ferdinand and his family. The museum is very well laid out from the Crypt to the final room which shows his last day in Sarajevo.
The cafe is also a perfect place to take in the atmosphere of the garden and surrounding view Franz Ferdinand and family would have enjoyed. A real must see place.

We did a guided tour of the museum with our guide Frederick. We also met the Coun tess called Alex. She was so gracious to take time to meet us.
Loved the history of Franz Ferdinand and his wife. Coming from Scotland and visiting their resting place was special.

Got here by sheer coincidence on our way from Hungary to Germany. Just so a brown sign of "some castle" and decided to have a look. To our amusement this turned out to be not just "some" castle, but castle of Erzherzog Ferdinand, the one whose assassination became a trigger to World War I. Marvelous landmark, very informative guide and beautiful garden.
One little downside - garden could really use more of those yellow "Rundweg" signs, as from time to time the path just dissappears and you stand there spinning your head and trying to find next one.

Small palace situated in a lovely park (60 000m2), which can be visited at an extra charge. There is museum featuring the life of Archduke Ferdinand, a small church and the krypt of Ferdinand and Sofia. Covid 19: the inoculation status is not checked nor are masks required.

This place is full of history and makes you understand how big was The Austro-Hungarian Empire before the First World War. The museum recreates the old times very well and the garden was lovely, a walk through it should not be avoided.
