Just spent 3 weeks at these apartments and would highly recommend them. Clean spacious and well equipped. They are a home from home. Karen and Nigel are fantastic hosts and do there utmost to make your stay memorable. The location is superb is a nice quiet area. Just a 5 min walk to the slopes where there are lockers for your skis and boots.
Nigel knowledge of the ski area is excellent and will advise on the best areas to ski. While you are out skiing you may see your hosts skiing with there film star dog Ben.
This is a gem of a apartment in a hidden gem of a ski area!

Staying at Strims is like staying with family! Nigel and Karen can’t do enough for you and the accommodation is spacious and spotlessly clean. So much work and thought into making it feel such an alpine retreat with old skis and poles and pictures making it feel so homely. Stayed for 3 weeks and at the end didn’t want to leave but the best recommendation I can give is that I will be without question returning to stay many more times. Without doubt the best alpine accommodation and service I’ve had in the Alps! And I can’t finish the review without mentioning Ben the Swiss white Shephard, he’s such a beautiful dog and I loved giving him cuddles and attention which he loved back. See you again soon Nigel Karen and Ben!

I've just spent one week in Zauchensee at Apartment Strims as a group of 10 friends and we had an amazing time. We were very lucky with the weather, having perfect skiing conditions every day. The apartments were perfectly accommodating with everything we needed. We picked up lots of food and drink from the supermarket down in Altenmarkt town which lasted all week and we had more than enough space for all our food. Karen and Nigel can sort out a bread order service to be delivered to your door the following morning. Cooking facilities are great and space of the apartments are perfect. We had a private bedroom each and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen dining area in apartment 2. The sauna came in handy, as did the 'honesty box-help yourself' alcohol for if we ever ran out of drink. Amazing sledge run from the top of the mountain which leads straight down to the apartment! It only cost 4 euros and is well worth doing at least once during the stay at Strims. Ask Karen and Nigel and they can tell you all the details! Absolutely fantastic skiing for all abilities and the Zauchensee mountains easily link to other towns which is amazing for full days out. Such a fun holiday thank you for having us!

If you are looking for the best place to stay in the Zauchensee area then this is the place to stop. The building has been made in a very traditional Austria wood style. Karen and Nigel are the most wonderful hosts, even though it is self catering they live in the building and cannot do enough for you to make your stay the best ever. They are so knowledgeable about the whole area not just Zauchensee itself. They will happily answer any question and give you guidance so you can make the most of your stay. The appartments are beautifully furnished and have everything that you could need while you are there. The house is situated just on the edge of a forest a 10 minute walk into the village centre and in the winter you can even toboggan down from one of the top of the mountains to the back of the house. They have the most beautiful Swiss Shepherd dog named Ben who loves lots of fuss and has the most wonderful temperament as well. I cannot thank them enough for being great hosts and making my holiday there a truely memorable one. This is a fantastic place to stay, would recommend it 100% to anybody. I can’t wait to go back!!

Our sweet hosts; Karen, Nigel & Ben, are the warmest and extremely friendliest people you can ever come across.!!! From the cutest head tilts shown by Ben and the sincerest hand shakes and smiles from Karen and Nigel the moment we step into their home.!!

The apartment was extremely nice, clean, and perfect for our big family. The owners are super awesome and were so helpful. Apartment-Strims is an excellent place to stay, I highly recommend it.

Supernice hosts,Karen,Nigel and the dog are so cool!We had a tiny,but cosy appartment in the fairytale house,literally EVERYTHING at 6 sqare meters.It is for people in love,ans we just loved it!

The cottage is near the hiking path through the forest .. Rooms clean, well equipped kitchen. The owners of the cottage are very helpful and good .. I recommend to all ..

Abbiamo trascorso due settimane ad Apartment Strims: soggiorno stupendo e non vediamo l’ora di tornare!
Nigel, Karen e Ben – il loro bellissimo cagnolone bianco – sono stati dei perfetti padroni di casa: gentili, accoglienti e sempre pronti ad aiutarti con i loro consigli preziosi. Ci hanno fatto sentire a casa dal primo giorno e hanno trovato sempre una soluzione ad ogni nostra richiesta.
Abbiamo soggiornato nell’Appartamento 6: piccolo ma molto funzionale, arredato con stile, ben attrezzato e perfetto per una giovane coppia. Abbiamo particolarmente apprezzato il balcone della struttura, a disposizione di tutti gli ospiti, dove puoi rilassarti e bere una birra dopo cena o al ritorno a casa. Ogni mattina, su tua richiesta, Karen e Nigel ti fanno trovare pane fresco appena sfornato proprio fuori dalla porta di casa!
Zauchensee è un piccolo villaggio di montagna e, in estate, è un punto di partenza ideale per le escursioni (di ogni difficoltà) o per rilassarti vicino al lago. Non vediamo l’ora di tornare durante la stagione invernale: Zauchensee, infatti, è una rinomata località sciistica e il principale impianto di risalita si trova a soli 5 minuti a piedi da Apartment Strims.
Grazie Nigel e Karen. È stata un’esperienza fantastica! Ci vediamo presto.

Apartement Strims is gewoon de place to be,
Alles is aan wezig in het appartement en ook proper en nieuw.
Karen en Nigel zijn 2 geweldige en lieve mensen.
Het appartement is dicht bij alles gelegen.
Ook activiteiten zijn er in overvloed.
Je zal je nooit vervelen in het gezelschap van Karen en Nigel en je zal altijd een super vakantie hebben!!!

Det er nu vores 3. sommer vi har været en tur forbi Karen & Nigel på Strims. :-) Vi er VILDE med det. Vi holder gerne 2 overnatninger, på vej hjem fra Italien, på Appartment Strims. Her er så meget at se, og naturen og området forandre sig fra år til år. Vi ser meget frem til at komme og besøge stedet en vinter. Karen & Nigel er det perfekte værtspar :-D

Saubere und sehr gut und mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattete Apartements. In der Küche ist reichlich Geschirr und alles was man zum Kochen so braucht. Mir hat nur der Eierkocher und Pikser gefehlt- aber ein Topf tat es auch. Kleiner Punktabzug, da es schon schwierig war die richtige Temperatureinstellung für die Dusche zu finden und extra Toilette aber ohne Waschbecken. Für uns war das Apartment zu dritt ok. Es wird aber auch für bis zu 6 Personen angeboten. 6 Personen können jedoch auf keinem Fall in dem sehr kleinen Wohnzimmer auf dem einen Sofa und einem Sessel sitzen. Und hat es gut gefallen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und um jeden Gast bemüht.

We stayed for a week with our cat in the tiny apartment (as advertised) and I am afraid I can't recommend to do the same. We ended being charged additional 400€ for a local carpet damage, without being provided the corresponding invoices. Nothing was wrong with the apartment itslef, just the abundance of signs with different restrictions and rules around was not so pleasant. The location is very nice though.
