Discovery Trail Lookout

A pleasant 10-15 minute walk from the museum car park to the lookout. Dogs allowed on leash, and the breezy lookout is very welcome at the end. Quite shaded for the most part, and caution advised with snakes on the walk.

Lovely short walk which varies from 600m to 1000m one way depending which of the various tracks you take. A wee bit of a climb, but up top you get superb views back to the Agnes coast & upto 1770. We saw a wee tree snake halfway up. We went up on the track from the back gate of NRMA camp, and came down on track to the Community centre. About 3/4 hour all up with time for photos up top

Absolutel rippa of a place to stay! Highly recommend the town, people and atmosphere was beautiful. Best couple of days. Be sure to check out the local markets and shops. Friendly people and great Tucker.

Lovely spot to look over the beaches that meet the rocky lookout.
Easy access with plenty of car parking spaces. Wheelchair friendly (New path when we went makes for easier access)
Information boards for the history buffs, if your in the area this lookout is definitely one to go see.

The walk up to here wasn’t the easiest to find or to traverse! It’s mostly uphill (as you’re going to the lookout), with some steps and some dirt terrain. However, the view at the top is quite nice. The walk probably took about 10 minutes at a relatively fast pace and no stopping. The lookout area was quite windy - if you’re in the area and looking for a nice quick walk, I’d recommend! The only issue is that the start of the walk is a bit hard to find (there wasn’t much parking nearby so we had to walk ~1km from the side street parking just to get to the start)

Perfect little walk to a stunning look out, Great views and moon rise 🌚 are perfect from this spot (very dark) and star gazing bring mosquito repellent 🦟
