Jindalba Boardwalk

We did all three boardwalks in the Daintree, this was our favourite. Just stunning. The boardwalk loop is easy going, about 600m, with some stairs. If you have a bit more time, the long loop is a stunning walk through the rainforest. It is a 3km loop, easy to follow track, medium difficulty due to uneven ground, lots of tree roots, and muddy when raining.

What an amazing boardwalk in the tropical Daintree Rainforest. It's just a short drive from the Daintree Discovery Centre. We were hoping to spot some Cassowary however was left disappointed😫But was amazed by the vast variety of fauna and flora the the rainforest.👌

Ignore the directions on Google maps, keep driving as you go past the Daintree visitor centre. After about a kilometre you'll reach the Jindalba parking area. Plenty of picnic spaces and the start of the boardwalk. At the moment the entrance is boarded off, so you have to go in through the exit, and walk up to the start and back. Be aware this means you will have to. Limb some stairs, but it is a lovely walk.

Absolutely stunning boardwalk and the entrance to jindalba long walk which is the most accessible raw walk through the Daintree jungle. The boardwalk at self is about 20 minutes and absolutely stunning The long walk is a highlight - Exceptionally well marked but give it four hours just because there’s so much to see and do and the terrain is a bit uneven so it’s a little slow going

We did three of the boardwalks in Daintree and this one felt magical. Theres a creek that runs through it, lots of scrub fowl making wonderful sounds and scratching along. Jindalba Boardwalk feels similar to what the walks are like in the Daintree Discovery Centre, whereas the other boardwalks more north featured mangroves specifically.

As we were leaving the carpark we just happened to see a Daddy Cassowary with 3 chicks! We called the Daintree Discovery Centre so they knew as well (read someplace that this was the protocol). :)

I had the chance to go when both the boardwalk and the hike were still open. The hike is fabulous, but not easy, goes up and down a lot and over very slippery terrain. Sometimes, it took me a while to find the markers, because the trail is not always visible. A few months later, I heard that tourists got lost in there for several hours in the darkness, so be very careful. Never stray from the path and if you don't find the next marker, go back!!

Nice free walk with a short 700 mt loop and a longer, 2.4km loop. Chances to see a cassowaru in the wold are large too and yhe rainforest there is pretty cool!

Short walk relatively easy (but with steps) as well as a longer tough 2.7km trek. Plenty of parking and nice rainforest walk

Really worth a wick stop to take this well created boardwalk through amazing Daintree forest. Well maintained with super informative signs. An unexpected highlight.

Awesome walk (the non boardwalk) which took us about an hour or so for us, and the boardwalk is quite nice too. We came twice to see cassowaries and SAW A JUVENILE ONE the second day! Keep an eye out for their poo and walk quietly and you might get lucky!

Another great boardwalk in the Daintree forest. Would definitely recommend it. Easy walk, beautiful rainforest

The boardwalk is an easy hike through the forest. The longer hike into the forest is tougher but well worth the effort to see vast flora of the rain forest.

Amazing! I loved Jindalba so much that I came back twice during my stay in the Daintree. I did the longer track walk rather than the boardwalk, and didn’t see another human until I got back to the car park. Saw and heard heaps of birds - including the Wompoo fruit dove and a cassowary! Also saw heaps of lizards and cool insects. It’s a great walk, it is steep in places and there are lots of tree roots on the path and a couple of creek crossings so make sure you wear sturdy footwear. The trees are absolutely amazing, you are really in amongst the rainforest.

Go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid all the day buses!

Wonderfully constructed, free to trek boardwalk through incredible rain-forest wilderness. This walk is a credit to the local government for giving the public an experience that is memorable, comfortable, and educational.

Lovely short walk. Don't forget the aerogard! There are public toilets at the carpark.

Lovely short 700m Boardwalk there is actually a much longer track as well starting at the same point. Search absolutely beautiful rainforest.

Lovely rainforest walk right near the Discovery Center. It has a longer walk not on boardwalks, and a shorter one on the boardwalk. We just missed a cassowary that was in the carpark while we were inside walking. Lots of amazing plants, mushrooms, and huge colorful butterflies!

Good walk. No waterfalls but has running creeks in wet season. We did the short walk which took us about 15m then did the long walk which was about an hour.

Excellent immersive experience hiking in the daintree. We stopped at the discovery centre first but finding out it was only a 1km walk and was $37 entry per person, also appeared to be targeted to families with younger children with the whole dinosaur theme, we opted to head a little further up the road to the board walk. I couldn't find a lot of detail on line but its all clear when you get there. Its part of the national park so has free entry. It has a 1.5km board walk through the rainforest, this is an easy loop but is not wheelchair accessible as it has a few steps throughout. But before doing the board walk we did the 2.8km walk through the forest. This is not an easy walk, im fairly agile and fit but the path is very narrow, slippery and steep in places. This made the walk a lot of fun, but it is probably not appropriate for people who don't have a great fitness level or are unsteady on their feet. I stopped to take a lot of photos throughout but it took us probably about 1.5 hours to get through. Even without taking photos I think you wouldn't be able to take much time off if you want to enjoy it, because when walking you need to pay a lot of attention to your feet so to enjoy the rainforest you need to continually stop to look around. The path is well marked with pink and orange tapes and orange directional reflectors, so you shouldn't get lost. We really enjoyed the walk and would recommend it to others. There are picnic tables available on site and also toilets so good for a trip out. I will add photos when I've downloaded my camera
