5 stars for finally a beach with good stinger nets. The beach is breathtaking as well but now you can go bathing all year long!

Four Mile Beach has it all!
As a popular advertising jingle about a luxury resort down the road once claimed, this place is "too good to be true"! :-)
Soak up the sun, enjoy a book or just watch people making the most of this tranquil and very special location.
Part of the beach is patrolled so you are in safe hands if you swim between the flags.
You could easily spend quite a few hours here.
There is a nearby lookout to take in the spectacular scenery from a higher vantage point.
Definitely worth a visit when you are in Port Douglas!

It's a short stretch of beach with very handy facilities nearby (BBQ, toilets, workout equipment) and Flagstaff Hill walking trail. The views are gorgeous too!

Stunning beach suitable for running, walking or the usual relaxing. Yoga by the beach and surf craft rental was also available. There are also a few dining establishments on the northern end.

Beautiful beach. We came in early January and the water was like bath water. They also have a netted section that protects you from jelly fish, etc., that can sometimes show up. No rocks or other nasty stuff in the netted area either. Park has everything you could need, including a barbecue area.

Beach was fairly quiet when we visited - only about 50 people on it. We had room to spread out.

One of the most beautiful beaches i have ever visited! The water is always a balmy temperature with gorgeous views and pristine sand. I love walking up and down this beach and having a dip in the water. The waves are small so its good for the kids too. We try to visit at least once a year

Awesome beach, has life guards up on the main shop end. Nice hard sand with decent shade in the afternoon. Can hire lounges, umbrellas, kids spades and buckets, boogie boards, stand up boards etc. They take cash only. Nearest ATM in on the main shopping strip, about 600 away.

I have been here a number of times and never get tired of it. Four Mile Beach (6.4 km beach, for those of us who prefer the metric system) is iconic and a great place to bring your children.

I found Four mile beach to be a nice, clean beach. I like that you can hire deckchairs for the time you are there. There was lots of tourists, and plenty of people sunbathing.

Great part of the world. The town end has a surf club. The beach is the perfect distance for a good run/walk. It has a hill and rocks at one end and mangroves at the other end. On the other side of the peninsula is an estuary and boat harbour with crocodiles.

Such a big expanse. We visited june/july. Water was fresh upon initial entry but fine after that. Werent cold when we came out of the water. No stingers.

Beautiful, relaxing, and the surf life club patrol beach to keep you safe. Swimmers, parasailers, runners, walkers alike can all enjoy this stretch of beach. Several cafes for those who just wish to take in the view.

This is such a beautiful beach. Long and flat which is perfect for a ride, run or a walk. Exactly 5km from end to end, this is a perfect 10km run route.

The beach end towards town is best for swimming and you can hire a deck chair or paddle board etc.

Obviously swim in the stinger nets during stinger season, make sure to head down to the town beach end and climb the steps to the beautiful island point lookout. If you look carefully down by the rocks I guarantee you'll see turtles surfacing.

A nice beach with some shaded area on the shore, as well as a netted area in the water to stay safe from stingers. Clean public changerooms are also available in the vicinity.

A very romantic place for couples to walk around though I encountered a developing tropical cyclone in my time of visit.
