Absolute perfection!!!
Cooked with care and effort with great quality fresh oil, the staff and owners at Doonies do it right, the batter is a nice coating, the Blue Grenadier's are a great size and carefully cooked, the calamari is the best and actual squid, along with nicely done large juicy scallops. Great customer service and selection of drinks too! Overall an excellent experience and would definitely recommend for everyone. I may even go for a third time tomorrow :)

Wonderful customer service and value. Chips are always crunchy and delicious. We often get the souvlaki or burger and they are both large, fresh and full of quality meat. Very popular on Friday and Saturday nights, so best to book in advance.

Top notch. The best fish n chips I’ve had in Australia. God honest truth. And I’m a Kiwi. Visited Doonies during a day out in Gisborne. Chips are thick and crispy, fish was fresh, batter was thin - perfect consistency and texture, salt quota was what I requested - light, and staff were friendly. I’m not a local but I will DEFINITELY buy again when in the area. Lunch around the Gisborne area is locked in. Thanks Team.

Food was amazing as it has been every time i’ve visited doonies. Potato cakes are awesome as well, big size, not greasy at all but still crispy. Owners are the best, always greet me with a smile on their faces.

Biggest thanks to the team Doonies, they go out of their way to make the food amazing and their service is second to none. I travel 25mins to receive quality food and its worth it!!

Have been going here for 7+ years, have not had better anywhere. Recently trying to eat less carbs and they did me an insanely awesome burger with meat as buns. So good!! Wish I could post a pic!
