Roger Free Park

This park is named after my granddad Roger Free a lifelong Sunbury resident who lived opposite the park at 73 Pasley st. His old house is now converted to units.Roger maintained the park when it was neglected for decades. There is a rock with a plaque thanking him for his efforts on the Miller st end. Captain of the Sunbury senior football and cricket teams, loyal blues supporter, a kind, generous and humble man who is missed dearly.

Plenty of space for the kids to run about and lots of different equipment to kept them entertained. Picnic area is great too

Grear place for toddlers and a picnic

I visited Roger Free Park in Sunbury over the weekend, two day's in a row. With three of my grandchildren. Many year's ago in the 1990's & early 2000, l used to take my children to this park, as it was in close proximity to where l was living at the time. We called this park the Miller St, Park. In those day's there was a running wheel, & monkey bar's & swings, as well as a rocking sea - saw. It is such a spacious area, so we used to play soccer & cricket here also with the family.
I was quite surprised to see just how updated this park has become. Especially installing a flying fox which was a real winner with all the grandkids, aged from 10 yo, 6 yo & 3 yo.
There is a wizzy dizzy, climbing equipment as well as a slide & swings, including a disability swing. There is a seated picnic area, & undercover area as well. But unfortunately no restrooms, or barbeques.

Love the park. But a let down with no toilets
