Tropical Nites

A fabulous place to stay at Tropical Nites, very neat and comfy self contained apartments. A great place to have a holiday for a couple or a family! We spent two nights with a maximum comfort, freedom and security. Value for money and a genuine support and hospitality to their guests. A walking distance to everything we wanted to or up to 4min max drive around the central port Douglas restaurant and hotel streets. Kids enjoyed the place like their home. The apartment had everything we needed during our family holiday.
Andy and Mel looked after us and make us felt at home. I highly recommend them if anyone wants to visit Port Douglas! Definitely will visit them again!

We had a lovely time at Tropical Notes. Everything was clean , and services provided promptly and as we expected. Pool was very nice and also heated. It could have been a bit warmer for winter as it was often shaded. Location was good for price. We had no problems with noise.

We loved our accommodation. Perfect for our family of 5 with all of the comforts of home at a very reasonable price. Very clean. Great beds. Loved the kitchen, giving us the option to have meals in. Used the bbq a couple of times which was also terrific. Great location 1km out of town. Far enough to be away from people, but close enough for a walk into town and home after dinner. Lovely staff. Thanks very much. Very memorable family holiday.

Brilliant value for a comfortable family vacation. Spacious comfortable 3 bed, 2 bath townhouses grouped around a shared pool and BBQ. Quiet, but convenient location. Easy walk into town and beach. Cheap fast shuttle if guests would rather be driven.

Perfect spot, nice walk into town, 3 bedroom townhouse was perfect for 3 couples, it was spotlessly clean, pool was gorgeous, and Mel & Andy couldn’t have been better hosts. We absolutely recommend Tropical Nites and we will definitely be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location within walking distance to Four Mile Beach. The hosts were friendly and gave us lots of advice about restaurants and hikes.

Excellent value for money. Well positioned just 10 minute walk from main centre of Port Douglas and 5 minute walk to the beach.
Andy was very helpful with information about tours and places to visit. We had a car so were able to get out and about visiting what is on offer. An excellent base to visit Kuranda, Daintree and Mossman Gorge. Loved our stay here at Tropical Nites. Was sad to leave

A beautiful Port Douglas oasis that felt like home. From the moment we arrived Mel and Andy greeted us with a big smile and provided us with helpful information for our stay. Our Villa was a two level townhouse that overlooked the pool. It was beautifully decked out, clean and newly renovated. There was plenty of space for our two guests, a family would comfortably be able to settled in here. The pool was set at a perfect temperature and it was so very relaxing laying on the deck chairs and listening to the trees and the birds. There was kids toys and pool noodles to use for anyone swimming. During our stay we did not use it but there was a great BBQ area and some chairs to sit at that was used by other guests during our stay. The walk to the beach was approximately 5 minutes, crossing over a main road and down a lovely little walkway. Similarly the walk into town was only about an additional 8-10 minutes and following the Marina meant that you would see all the lovely boats come and go. During our stay we had a car so mostly drove into the Main Street which took less than 5 minutes. The whole experience at Tropical Nites was sensational, we felt at home straight away and now back at home in Melbourne all we want to do is head straight back. If you’re staying in Port Douglas, do yourself a favour and book an apartment here. You will have a wonderful stay and will not regret it. Tropical Nites in Port Douglas offers nicely presented self contained accommodation in a small complex of detached townhouses with lovely tropical landscaping and well maintained surrounds. Quiet complex at night so we slept well in comfortable very large beds.
We had everything we needed for our one week stay in Port Douglas and particularly enjoyed sitting on the upper balcony and ground floor patio - so relaxing. Sizable heated pool was situated in front of our townhouse along with an undercover bbq area. We liked that all the facilities were just a step away when we needed/wanted to use them. Managers are very friendly and accommodating and the townhouse was clean and inviting on our arrival. We stayed in the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom accommodation option so our chosen townhouse provided full bathroom/toilet facilities on both floors. One bathroom contains a laundry facility with washer and dryer which was very welcome near the end of our 7 day stay.
Well situated complex in Port Douglas and extremely kid friendly too.

We had a lovely 7 night stay here in Oct 23 with 2 adults and 3 children. The accommodation was wonderful, no issues at all! Very comfortable, modern and fresh. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly.
We used the local on call shuttle bus each day to get around which was very convenient to get back and forth to port Douglas main centre however you could walk (about 20 mins). In hindsight we should have got a multi pass discount the bus company had on offer as we could have saved money but we know for next time.

At one point our neighbours in the townhouse next to us smoked out the front of their unit and the wind blew the smoke our way, that wasn’t great but they weren’t there the whole time.

The pool was lovely and well appointed and we loved that we were so close to the pool that was amazing!

Beautiful accomodation, perfect conditions. Nice walk to the shops, close to the beach. Owners were very accommodating, they booked everything for us and made awesome recommendations. Would definitely stay at Tropical Nites again. Highly recommended.

We spent 4 nights in Port Douglas at the Tropical Nites for our honeymoon. Owners were so lovely and helpful. Fabulous clean & spacious house with all amenities. Handy to town, beautiful gardens and a lovely pool to cool off in. Would definitely recommend for any couples or families to stay at here!

Three nights in late August. Mel is co-manager and was friendly and helpful. Units are three BR but we had only one with the others locked off. BR is upstairs as is the bathroom and there is a generous balcony with table and chairs outside.
Also a table in front downstairs but little privacy besides the landscape but the next room is far enough away that it is fine.
Kitchen was well equipped and functioned fine. No less than 6 chairs around the main table.

I would stay here again.

Great holiday - Stayed for 5 nights in a - three bedroom town house. Facilities were great for a family of 5. Heated pool was perfect for the kids, they were in multiple times a day in May, regardless of the temperature.

Mel & Andy were truly wonderful hosts that came to our rescue when our BNB was flooded. The whole experience at Tropical Nites was fantastic from beginning to end with easy access to a wonderful BBQ area/Heated saltwater pool compound, carparking was covered and easily accessed, the rooms were well appointed with virtually anything you might need, great balcony, lovely gardens. We can't wait to go back!!

We spent 7 nights with 4 adults and 2 small children in a 3-bedroom apartment at Tropical Nites and really enjoyed our stay. It is within close proximity to the beautiful 4 mile beach and the town is within an easy walk. The pool and the BBQ area were very clean as was the apartment. Thank you Mel and Andy for being such good hosts and steering us towards the lovely Mosman Gorge, the wildlife habitat and the fabulous day trip to Kuranda - up on the heritage train, back on the skyrail - It's all just a little bit of Paradise. We stayed 7 fabulous nights recently and loved the location and serenity. It was perfect for a family with the self catering and the pool which our little one really enjoyed. Mel helped us organise some great tours. Highly recommend!

We recently stayed at Tropical Nites for the second time and have booked again for next year! Very handy to walk everywhere local, well appointed units and very clean. Plenty of room outside so you don’t feel closed in. Lovely pool and barbecue area. Mel and Andy are delightful hosts and very helpful!

We stayed in a three bedroom, 2 bathroom townhouse which was perfect for our family of five. It was spacious, clean and well stocked. We utilised the pool and bbq area daily and enjoyed many hours there. If we are ever fortunate enough to com eback to Port Douglas we will be staying here.

We spent wonderful 6 days at Tropical Nites in March 2023. Great property, amazing location, and excellent service. Owners Mel and Andy were very helpful and friendly and gave us valuable information how to spend our holiday in the area and booked our activities.
The townhouse was perfect clean and well presented. The surrounds were attractive. Clean poll and bbq area.
