Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas

This was probably one of the nicest resorts that I've stayed at in recent years.

Everything about the property is very large and spacious, and you feel relaxed the moment you step into the lobby. The grounds and lagoon pools are very beautiful (though the water was quite cold).

We stayed in the two bedroom villa, which was very roomy and comfortable. It was well maintained too. While the villa was slightly away from the main building, it was an easy walk to get there. In addition, there was always the easy option of getting a buggy to bring you back and forth if we required it.

The easy access to Four Mile beach is a great bonus as well, as it is a beautiful place to walk, and provides an easy way to get to town during the day (We walked to town several times during our stay via the beach)

We found the resort very well maintained. The location is secluded, it's right on the beach and close to town. The rooms are well appointed, luxurious and clean.
The standout for us was the service we experienced from the mostly international staff, which you wouldn'tnormally expect. It was simply outstanding. They were friendly and very helpful. The management should be very proud of the culture they have instilled and developed.

Had the best time here, room was lovely and clean. The bed was so comfortable.

Highlights were:
-Cabanas that you can rent (totally worth it)
-The huge pools plus swim up bar
-Restaurants (in particular Lagoon)
-Daintree Bar (shout to Franco and Nicole! They make the BEST cocktails)
-Location is near everything

Things to remember:
You're in FNQ, it's humid and so buildings are harder to maintain and things do not dry as quick. The place is super well maintained considering and all rooms/ communal areas have great AC so you wouldn't know it when you're inside.

I stayed back in August 2023 with my wife for our honeymoon, so a delayed review. Put simply - it was paradise. I really could not fault this place.

The rooms & facilities are outstanding. Service is some of the best I have had from anywhere in the world.

Your Assistant Front Office Manager should be commended for the service he provided & how he really made our stay an unforgettable experience. We will definitely return for an anniversary trip in the future to relive the moments we had at Sheraton PD.

I could not be happier with the room, service and facilities in the resort. It is a real shame how run down certain areas have become or simply have not been viable for the resort. The old play centre/child care (for avid golfer parents) is shut down and appears to be a bit of a storage room now (it was such a beautiful building) and the old shopping complex is in a state of disrepair and void of the former glory with the old bar totally trashed inside and left to rot. Obviously it was not sustainable with the country club and amazing restaurants within the hotel.

Despite this there is no impact to your stay here there’s enough to do without having to leave for days.

This was a beautiful resort to stay at. The gardens are amazing and choice of swimming areas also fantastic. We basically had a pool to ourselves the entire time. The buffet breakfast was delicious and so much to choose from each morning. The staff here are very attentive and always asking of you need anything extra. We can't wait to stay again.

So far so good. Just checked in and its so big! Room on the pool is really nice and the gardens are well maintained. Walked along the beach to town for dinner which was nice. Harder to walk back on the street. It’s on the expensive side but you get what you pay for.

Stayed in room 5313 and was definitely the best resort we have ever stayed in! Staff were so friendly and amazingly helpful we barely had to lift a finger. Pools and bar where incredible!! We will definitely be back!

Amazing!! Everything was fantastic, service, the spaciousness of the resort and many, many areas to swim. The cocktails next to the pool was great and the breakfast options were plenty to choose from. The staff was great, super helpful and friendly. We celebrated a birthday so we received a room upgrade and delicious cake delivered to our room. Even complimentary cake again at dinner. Fantastic resort, go there!! Tips for travelling with kids, take some pool toys or inflatables for them to play in the pools, the pool areas are huge and lounging on an inflatable ring is great. Also, no kids area as other travellers also asked, there's a pool table in the lobby and table tennis in the garden. My kids didn't care about any games room or kids area anyway, they had so much fun swimming.

If I could hit 10 stars on this review I would. What a lovely resort to spend a much needed break within. I commend on your maintenance of such (Andrew), your welcome at the reception (Karen - Team Leader) and Jamie, Samuel, Oliver and Maddy at the Resort Pool for their wonderful attentive service whilst relaxing around the lagoon pool. Thanks Sheraton Mirage as we are very happy and content customers.

I booked this hotel for my boyfriend's birthday and it was a lovely weekend. The hotel is beautiful and our room was really spacious and over looking the pool. The pools are stunning and the staff were so friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

We had an excellent welcome and the pool side room was amazing. Love the easy access to the pool for an early morning or evening swim. We tried the Feast and The Lagoon House restaurants. Fantastic.
Would definitely stay again.

My family stayed for 3 nights and 4 days.
The luxury resort was a beautiful and wonderful place.
The wonderful swimming pool and the room view of the sea are fantastic.

AMAZING is an understatement! We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa, which was beautifully appointed. The staff are very welcoming and help with everything! The pools are EXCELLENT, and the food at the resort is unbelievable!
We were very lucky to go in November during off peak so the entire resort was quiet. Great place to stay for families! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Even though a few cyclones the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Booked for 4 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and could not recommend the Hotel enough. The resort is awesome, wonderful pools and gardens and so relaxing. The location is sensational on the beach within walking distance of Port Douglas. The food was excellent and chose to eat at the Hotel every night. All the staff were great to deal with from check in to check out and a very special thank you goes to Candy who looked after us in the restaurants and made us feel so special, she was exceptional. I think you can tell we had a fabulous time and can't wait to book again.

Our stay was just after cyclone Jasper and although it did rain alot and roads were blocked to return we found the location , food and premises amazing. The staff were exceptional and always went above and beyond for us during our stay. Despite the once in 100 year event. This resort made sure we were comfortable and safe. They helped us organise our car so we could return to our family in time for Christmas. Thanks Joseph, Steve and team for everything.

OMG - I love this resort! We were there for Christmas and NY and the place was festively decorated. The services staff were amazing! I had one of the best port ever in my life! The surrounding area are full of natural wonders. I went to the beach every morning and evening; it's beautifully located. But it was a scorcher! And because it is Port Douglas, it was humid. My glasses were steamed up the second I stepped out of my room. However, the resort and its area are beautifully adorn and well taken care of. One of my best experience ever!

Maddy was so helpful & understanding.
She certainly made our holiday a better one, so thank you.

A shout out to Lisa who was assisting at the lagoon restaurant & was incredibly efficient.

Also to Shelby at Harrison’s restaurant who made our New Year’s Eve a fabulous one and whose service was impeccable.
