Birdcage Hotel

Delicious pub feed for being in the outback. One of the best feeds we've had at a pub ever. Veggies and mash were Delicious. Veggie pizza was great, kids loved it. Would reccomend to anyone coming through the area.

Having my dinner here and some wine in my first day in Longreach. I ordered the the rice with salmon bowl. I thought it’s fresh dice salmon but it’s smoked salmon I don’t think I can eat smoked salmon with rice but I couldn’t throw the food so then I try to enjoy it. My suggestion better change it with dice salmon and pour the sauce on top and add some Japanese caviar on top and you burn salmon and the sauce with torch for few second. Restaurant inside in so cozy !

Dinner with friends last night was fabulous! We are staying at the Tourist CP and took the courtesy bus to the Birdcage. Gavin is a champion, prompt service and friendly guy with tips for places worth visiting. The meals were good sized, well priced and the menu is extensive enough to meet all tastes. Well worth visiting this hotel for a decent feed.

After a survey of what was available opted for dinner at the Birdcage. It was great choice with pleasant surroundings a wide menu. The barramundi spring rolls are well worth a mention! The Irish bar staff were uniformly friendly and efficient. Worth a visit.

An excellent place for lunch or dinner if you're staying in Longreach. Food was great and very well priced. And served promptly. We were staying 4 days in Longreach and had intended to go somewhere different each day to eat. But we finished up going there every day instead.
Even though we were staying a little out of town, Gavin (who I believe runs the place) had no hesitation in collecting us from our motel each and every time we wanted to go there for a meal, and then dropping us back at our motel when we wanted to return. They say it's a courtesy bus but when you're the only ones travelling, it's more like your own personalised chauffeur! And all done so promptly as well - no waiting. Five minutes after requesting it, he's there.
Would highly recommend.

What a great feed and location. Centre of town and staff were a1. They had a bus in as well so they worked like Trojans... picked me up and dropped me back to hotel... not an issue. Food and cold drinks were great

The perfect spot for dinner when passing through Longreach!

Their courtesy shuttle, cheekily named the “Birdy Bus” will pick you up and drop you off anywhere in town, which is very handy for a weary traveller in the dark.

The food was excellent - we loved the added touch of the veggie and salad bar to spruce up your meal your own way.

Great food, huge servings, friendly staff, and a great buzz on a Friday night. The place to be in Longreach. Massive steaks as good as any of the premier Brisbane steakhouses, gluten free options, and delicious vegetarian pizza 🍕

We called in for dinner on mothers Day, the service was great, the food was excellent, had some drinks, and I would recommend.

They fit my husband and I in for a late lunch, when it was mere minutes away from their lunch window closing. My husband had rump steak, chips and salad and I had crumbed lamb cutlets, chips & salad (we both had their creamy pepper sauce, and it was delicious)- the meals were amazing, cooked to perfection, and it was ready so quickly. The drinks were ice cold and atmosphere was warm & friendly. Wait and bar staff were friendly & hospitable. Would definitely recommend to all.

Awesome hotel! I had the Thai beef salad which was delicious! Yes it is spicy, as per the menu, it has chilli in it. Our meals came out promptly and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The best steak I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection. All of us (3 adults) agreed.
The kids loved their meals too.
Highly recommend

Out here for teaching, wouldn't go anywhere else for dinner. Outstanding pizza last night, and the steak tonight even better.

Great spot for food and drinks. Lovely daily specials with quality foods at a good price.Drinks range good, non alcohol options and coffees.
Best thing is the staff and service...many other places could learn from how it operates.

Went to dinner at the Birdcage hotel, we sat outside in beer garden as we had our Fury friend with us. We were pleasantly surprised with our meals
The Porterhouse steak with veges was generous, serving and cooked perfectly with the best pepper sauce I have had on a steak. Mrs. had the salmon, which was also cooked perfectly, and meals were presented very well fine dining
