This a brilliant spot park to camp in longreach. The receptionist in information center suggested me to stay over at apex park Thomson river. It has clean toilets but no shower, ( I took shower in town behind the information center, u can put the donation also), beautiful views and set up facilities. Prices for Camp a night or aweek:(put in donation box) Sadly I just spent a day here due the tight time to catch my flight in Brisbane and found out my tent broken cus someone with a caravan hit it!!!!! Really bad day ! Just Came back from the museum and 2 ladies not far away from my Camp helped me to set my swag up again and fix it with some tape, otherwise if not been fixed or get help I’ll end sleep in my car😰 thanks brenda and her friend! Just some suggestion to council should put the shower there to make it easier for some people with some donation money to replace gas and water. I was expected the same like in invinebank but no. Definitely I’ll come back for aweek to do some fishing 🎣 and explore, also this town offer a lot of tourists attractions too. Some photos are here , the river and the views and also bob and his Laurie . I met a gentleman also there and sorry to him I forgot to get the tea!!!

This is the very popular Longreach (paid) camping ground for travellers.
Pay fees at info centre in town. $5 per site per night, or $27 for 7 nights.

As a full-time solo traveller, this place was brilliant for location close to town, comfort of space to park,
and camping beside the Thomson River is so picturesque. Flushing toilets are available, and some areas have access to potable water taps.
Great stop for a week to explore Longreach.

This was a fabulous facility for travellers.
Very busy at the time we were there however more people using the overflow park rather than the actual Apex Park.
A big thankyou for providing these camping spots. I am sure that without these camping spots there would not be enough caravan park spots to cope with the amount of travellers at this time.

Great camping area close to the river. Has toilet facilities only. Need to be self sufficient.

Reasonably quiet. Good to stop, call out for a few days. Top up with groceries. Did a river walk.( beautiful ). Did some site seeing. Always amazed at what the outback has to offer.

Great spot close to town, generally you can get a spot anytime. Can be a bit of dust bowl at times, particularly when it's windy. No shade whatsoever and be very hot during the summer months, but the price is right.
