Wenvoe - Historic retreat

It felt very special to stay in a beautiful historic home in Lithgow - a nice change to the accommodation in The Blue Mountains. Each room is spacious and tastefully decorated for a comfortable short stay. The host provided a run down on the best local places to eat and where to find hidden Lithgow gems. We loved the attic conversion to watch movies, eating meals in the garden, and feeling like a lord of our very own manor.

A beautiful mansion in the heart of Lithgow, Wenvoe is a quaint historic retreat, cosy, stylish, well decorated, spacious and spotless clean . Host Tom has done a magnificent job restoring this property, with a personal and tasteful touch. We spent a couple of days there this winter with our two teenage and active boys, to get away from SYD and soak in the colder weather of the Blues Mountains. the many rooms are comfortable, having their own "personality". We particularly enjoyed watching movies in the gigantic attic specially designed for blue-ray DVD screening on a big screen and amazing sound, just like at the movies! This awesome space also caters for seminar/yoga/health retreat. Tom is attentive and always here to help, making his guests feel comfortable when required. Sport and cultural activities in and around Lithgow are plentiful, catering for kids and adults. Plenty of scenic drives, bush and mountain hiking, fishing to be enjoyed, and a great selections of food outlets and cafes about. Highly recommended.

This is our second stay at Wenvoe as we had such a great experience on our first visit. The owner (Tom) has captured the essence of the house with its historical style with modern touches from the sitting room to the living area. Look forward to staying there again. PS: The home cinema in the attic is amazing!

Wenvoe is a rare find in Australia and is just what you are looking for.

Finding historic stately mansions in Australia of this grandeur to stay at or book for a function is becoming rare, Much the less one that is being styled with both care and taste, so it is fantastic that Tom has set about to both lovingly restore the 100 plus years Bracey mansion and to provide it with stylish and comfort focused embellishments where he can.

Tom's love for vintage and his career in fashion and photography means that this refurb has been undertaken effectively to satisfy those looking for something chic and historic.

Furthermore, not only is there an impressive 4k cinema room in the top floor but a carefully curated classic film collection and Blu-ray library for those who want to give their kids that special experience.

Lithgow is close becoming the artistic hub of NSW and with Katoomba, Leura and Blackheath only a short while from the mansion, this is a place you would want to book for a week for full immersion.

Having stayed at Wenvoe twice, I am constantly discovering new sites. At the top of the street where Wenvoe is situated a fantastic Ordinance museum, with room upon room of weaponry spanning back hundreds of years and yet I only discovered this from walking.

I understand the mansion also hosts a supper club and other specialised occasions, so it offers much to do throughout the year.

I hope to be back at this grand estate soon!

My family stayed at Wenvoe 4 2 23 for the weekend , We slept 8 very comfortably . Tom has done a great job in bringing life back to our original family home. His mix of modern and old just works beautifully and it feels more like a home than a Air B and B

A truly wonderful experience is Wenvoe. The History is palpable and Tom has captured the comforts we all want with the history we long to be a part of. I love visiting as often as I can.
