Nandail Dighi Kalai

It was a joyful trip. The crowd ruined it a little but anyways it was fun. My freind was also kinda irritated btw 😅.

Without any plan, I saw the signboard on the journey and came along with the historical Nandail Dighi. Dighi is located in Punat Union of Kalai Upazila of Joypurhat District. First we entered Nandail College located on the bank of Dighi but we could not get a good view from there, then from there we saw the paved ghat and an Eidgah ground on the opposite side of the college. From the college we moved towards the Ghat. I enjoyed the real beauty of Dighi from this place. But one thing was very disturbing. A picnic spot had been set up next to the pond from where a DJ was constantly playing weird beats. Such a beautiful environment spoiled the emotion due to noise pollution. We stayed for like an hour. This lake also has a history. In 1610 Nandalal Raja of the Maurya dynasty dug the area by thousands of laborers in just 1 night to solve the water problem in the area. A lot of guest birds visit this lake during winter.

It's a huge pond which is covering nearly 70 acres of land. It can be a picnic spot and a time spendable park. Already here is a boat riding service. Per person 30 tk. Here is a rest house available for tourists and a landing stages for all. Its a nice and potential place for tourism.

Nandail Dighi is one of the beautiful Dighi around Northern Side of Bangladesh. This Dighi has some historical past Which is decorated Open Sky, Green Nature makes it so amazing to watch.

It was arranged a festival on the occasion of Eid-ul Azha.

This archaeological site is called Nandail Dighi (large Pond of Nandail). This site is situated at Punat Union of Kalai Upazila at Joypurhat District. The length of the pond is about 1 kilometre and volume 59.40 acre. King Nandalal was pioneer in mining this pond in year of 1610. Fresh water, fresh wind, peaceful place which easily can refresh your mind. Not far from Joypurhat district.

Nandail Dighi largest dighi of Joypurhat, near Kalai.
It's large and you can walk through east side bank. There is empty space on south side and you will like that place.
Overall don't expect anything except dighi you may like this.
