Markt Maastricht

A simply amazing market with lots of cheese, seafood products and fresh fish, meat and flowers. This is a must if you are in Maastricht, I would even adapt my schedule of visiting the city to accommodate for visiting the market since it’s not open every day

My sons and I took a day trip to Markt Maastricht because we read the Wednesday fish market was worth the visit. It absolutely was and we enjoyed several fried fish items from a local vendor and also some salted herring which was absolutely amazing.

If you are in Maastricht, you must go to the flea market. Lots of interesting knick knacks. Also, some very fancy stores nearby. Easy to spend money here, be careful.

Usual Dutch market where you can find everything you need. Fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, fish, nuts etc., but also clothes and other articles. Not sure of the days on which it is active. Definetly there on the Wednesdays.

Absolutely amazing. I love this place. You enjoy all type of coffee shops and restaurants and other shopping markets. It s amazing. The people are so welcoming and make you feel home and very friendly. The market is huge and the you feel the warmth of the atmosphere.

A superb very attractive market , crowded with people from Belgium and Germany .
This market takes place every Friday throughout the year , however it is very normal to go to the fishmonger's side , which my faith fears of all the assembly of customers fond of tasting fish and cooked seafood in oil , it is very delicious .
The city of Maastricht is very beautiful ...

Friday Markt. Many different choices to purchase. Fish, meat, vegetables, condiments, bread, sweets, treats and toys for pets. Clothing, sewing materials and accessories, flowers and more.

Great touristy vibe with lots of different wares on display.

Chill on Sunday morning

The square contains what looks like a Rathus but which are the city government's buildings. This square is used for markets and as a bus park when the Vrijthof Square is being used for open air performances / concerts. Nice bars and restaurants line the square and it is the main arrival and departure point for the city's public bus fleet. There is easy access to the city's pedestrian precinct from this square.

Lots of places to eat and shop. Good meeting place. Lots of vendors on the market days.

When the sun is out, come visit this place and enjoy the tourist thing, even if you're not a tourist.
