Great hike up to Boyana waterfalls if raining could be slippery but would rate this hike easy.

The view from the top is really worth it. It takes around 2 hours from the bottom to the top and around 1 hour from top to the bottom. The walk path is a little bit of difficult but you can make it. Just have patience and in the end the view is amazing. Just bring a bottle of water with you and comfortable shoes and clothes

Beautiful place. We went to the waterfall from the top and then down to the city, and it was a good decision because the road is very challenging and steep descent. It's good to have trekking sticks; without them the way down can be difficult and even dangerous in some places.

Instead of trekking sticks you can find wooden sticks in the forest.

Very rewarding hike - a bit steep, but absolutely doable even for couch potatoes. The view of the waterfall is quite impressive and we will definitely go again when we are back in Sofia someday.

*PRO TIP : STICK TO THE LEFT ROUTE*. Absolutely worth the hike. Not going to lie, wasn’t expecting it to be that intense. We were lucky enough to pick the left trail which was much easier and you get the view at the city in the middle of the path. However be prepared, you are literally at an angle all the time, no flat terrain whatsoever. The finish is very rewarding. You can try going down the other trail but be prepared for ultra steep hills with detached rocks, been a witness of many people slipping. It is much faster to go down though, so that’s a benefit.

Waterfall was great. 10/10 hike!

Trail is a bit narrow at times, which makes passing other visitors tricky and it's rather busy during weekends, but the waterfall way more beautiful than on photos, so definitely worth it.

Great view when you reach the main waterfall! Several smaller watercourses on the way up to Boyana Waterfall! Good route for beginners to intermediate experience hikers, wear sensible footwear as terrain changes regularly.

Very nice trail but it took us longer than expected to each the waterfall due to snow/ ice conditions in late December. 1,5 hours at least should be considered in a normal pace. We turned back the same way. Clear hiking path and amazing views.

Stunning hike to the waterfall. I think we took the red route which follows the water up to the waterfall. Some great points for pictures. We carried on around to the viewpoint of the disused cable car

Don't listen to google maps, the trail is marked on the trees and rocks. It's not a difficult hike but some of it is just slippery wet rocks so i strongly recommend good shoes.

really nice challenging hike where you can decide what route you want to take (the red one is the fastest and for me the most fun) not many tourists and we went on Saturday

Very beautiful waterfall. 17 min away from Sofia. It’s ideal for the ones who don’t want to travel far. The track had some easy parts and some hard and ones. It was worth climbing all the way up.

The hike is really good, not too difficult but still challenging if you are not trained. Recommended to avoid sneakers and use proper trekking shoes. Unfortunately the trail was very slippery because of the mud, so one must be really careful. This is the downside of visiting in early spring. Upside is that we saw the snow!

An incredible waterfall with spectacular view. Perfect both for lazy and active travelers, as there is 2 different ways to reach it

That's how it looks like after few days of thunder storms. There are few tracks, my advice is to choose the one marked on Google maps (the easiest one for that weather and for non-experienced mountaineer like me). We chose the most challenging one. Next few days were painful. But I have to say it was really beautiful and it's worth the discomfort.

Great walk and cool waterfall :) Walked the red route with my wife. Be careful though, take the drinking water with you. My wife and I had severe poisoning after drinking water from the waterfall. We might have been poisoned somewhere else, but still, be careful.
