La Taverne Sucre

A beautiful restaurant beside the Alliance Française. The food was wonderful, we had the lunch menu with 5 dishes and each one presented beautifully and super flavorful. Definitely recommend if you're in Sucre. The pavlova was AMAZING!

Excellent French food. The duck was amazing. The French onion soup is sweeter than we are accustomed to.

Delicious gourmet food. The menú del día is the way to go - an excellent value for a very filling 4-course meal. Enjoyable patio environment and good service. Highly recommend.

What a meal.

We went for dinner here and to be honest I had low expectations for a French restaurant in Sucre, but wow. We had the French onion soup, Steak with Roquefort sauce and Fettuccine del Mar all of which were excellent. Desserts were great too.

We chose one of the cheapest wines on the menu (we're backpackers) and it was also excellent.

Also decent coffees.

And yeah, it's expensive for Bolivia, but it's still cheaper than Europe and just as good if not better.

Easily one of the best meals we've had in South America to date and we've been to a lot of places...

Also the side salad of lettuce with raw onion dressed in mustard really reminded me of a Big Mac, in a good way.

Amazing food - the menu of the say is an absolute bargain. The service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and can't wait to go back for another one. If you're in Sucre, you have to go!

Fine dining in Sucre. I loved it.
Tender meat. Savory source a bit too sour and acidic but full of flavor in each bite. The few vegetables add a lot of contrast to the souce which, if on purpose, makes a great dish all together.

Excellent food with great service in an amazing setting. My first visit but will not be my last and i cant say enough about the quality of the food. I totally enjoyed the entire experience and highly recommend this as a must visit

amazing restaurant in the center of sucre. pleasant atmosphere with its own courtyard. We tried many restaurants and this one is the most delicious. excellent selection of wine, divine duck. plus very tasty set lunches. The staff doesn't speak English but is very attentive. We've been going to lunch with him for a whole week and we'll be back again! Thank you!

Best restaurant in Sucre. Everything we had was delicious. A little pricey icy by Bolivian standards but you get what you pay for. Not just French food - also tasty Asian and Italian dishes. It’s rare to find a place that can do multiple types of cuisine well.

The dish of the day was delicious! For only 60bs. No need to book in advance.

Some of the best food we've had in Bolivia! Great quality of ingredients and drinks. Best wine we've found in restaurants and attentive staff.

Very pleasant place, food was delicious, price is higher than other options but in our opinion the meal was worth it. My friend had some stomach issues and the staff quickly adjusted a meal for her. Very enjoyable experience

A quite place to enjoy some of the best food in Sucre. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. Only thing I would improve: Fresher/more variety of bread.

Having been to many French restaurants in and out of France, I can confirm the food here is excellent. I had a flavourful French onion soup and tender duck a la orange. The service was great and they spoke English.

Highly recommended if you're in the area and you want a high quality restaurant meal.

A great place to have good quality food. Real French with good wines. It's a bit more expensive but is worth every penny. The service is pretty good as well.

There were also some limited vegetarian options. My partner took a cannelloni which was great.

Staff was prompt and kind, and the food was amazing. Specifically the duck l’orange was out of control delicious (I think the menu has it named confit de pato). The house wine was fine and affordable, and the ambiance is lovely.

Great service. Good value for price. The executive lunch mebu was great with three options to chose from for the main course.
