Beautiful little area off the main highway. Cleared trails as well as a boardwalk that is kept clear of snow as best as possible, but some spots do have build-up. Cute in winter with lots of birds to see. Can only imagine how lovely it would be in the spring/summer/fall. Will be back.

We absolutely love coming here. The boardwalk offers great views and there's always some wildlife around even in winter. Plenty of parking too and the whole trail takes about 20 minutes to complete the loop if not stopping too much. This Sunday we got super lucky and saw a moose right by the trail!

This place is nice for weekends. Not a long walk. Amazing ducks and coots that are right next to the boardwalk and snap up food if you drop it. The chickadees follow you in the tree as you walk on the boardwalk. Not many people so parking space is enough. Just watch out for squirrels one bit me 👀 also I found this hilarious car in the parking

Great time with the kids. Bird watching, navigating the loops and paths. It was wet when we visited. My TIP is for you to carry mosquitoe spray. This is where they live, and if you are not dressed appropriately, you may have to shorten your visit. Turn your directional senses on or have your phone handy in case you walk on a path that seems unending. Enjoy yourself! It was worth it. Make it on a week day if you can!

I recently visited Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary and had a wonderful time walking along the boardwalk and feeding the birds. It was such a peaceful and serene experience, with ducks swimming in the water and squirrels and chickadees being fed from the hand. The sanctuary is a true gem in the early spring aside from the lack of leafs, and I would highly recommend a visit. I will definitely be going back!

As for other similar places to visit near Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary, you might enjoy checking out the Botanical Gardens or the Elk Island National Park. Both offer great opportunities for nature walks and wildlife viewing.

Such a beautiful place for both young and old, all the birds and wildlife are so intriguing. My toddler loves it here. Mosquitoes can get bad in the trails, the boardwalk was generally great. Highly recommend it to anyone!

Tons of birds, esp in the lakes! Also picnic benches, a beautiful boardwalk, and even a public telescope for viewing the lake. Very well maintained, clean, and lovely!!

Also lots of saskatoon and raspberries along the path.

Trails are pretty short (we went on all trails and took lots of stops, and spent roughly 1 hr there), but lots to see. Nice to visit if you’re in the area. Family friendly if everyone is prepared for mosquitos.

(Just make sure you use bugspray in advance. Literal clouds of mosquitoes)

Gorgeous boardwalk trail. Stroller and kid friendly. Lots of wildlife and scenic lookout points. Will definitely need to come back in summer!

Excellent place for an easy and accessible spring/summer/fall nature walk. The majority of the loop is boardwalk, which is well maintained by the volunteers. It does get quite icey in the winter.
It is a very popular place so parking is usually full on weekends and some evenings. Be sure to check the website guidelines before visiting, as this beautiful site requires care & respect!
Don't forget to bring binoculars!

LOOKING for short hikes, family, solo. Great for a afternoon trip.
Lots of birds to show kids, easy enough for strollers, little wagons or other wheel carts, some board walks, other hard packed trails.

Close to to Edmonton, Devon, Leduc, Calmar, other locations.
Make sure you prepare for Mosquitos.
Even nice to hike in winter, if so inclined.
Don't be scared to explore some of there other surrounding areas, such as Devon, which has a variety of hiking trails, bike parks, great for family and kids.

Great place for birdwatching. so far, my favorite place to go.

Lots of waterfowl, chickadees and other birds. Also, the plants are pretty interesting here as well.
I wouldn't recommend bringing children here, as they can be annoying especially when they are loud (I often try to find birds by listening for them, having a kid around makes it harder as they are quite noisy)
In the summer, this is a great place for finding white throated sparrows, I always found multiple whenever I visited.

If you visit, please read the guidelines first, it's annoying to see people break them.

Amazing place that is funded by donations. Boardwalk is in fairly good condition. Some of the viewing platforms were blocked off. Good variety of birds were viewed today!

What a nice find. Only about 25 min from the Edmonton Airport. I was able to spend some time taking photos while waiting for my friend's flight to arrive. So much better than waiting in the terminal. The boardwalk led me out into the marsh where the birds could care less if I was there. I'll be going back when I have more time to wander, see more of the area and hike more of the trails.

Incredibly well-maintained trail with a loooong boardwalk that seems to run forever! This is a great trail to introduce someone who's not really keen on getting her shoes dirty to the beauty of nature reserve. Look beyond the trees by the path and might be able to see the whole shoe store for the little fairies :-)

This is a beautiful, quite place to bring the kids for a nice family walk. We bring out some bird seed and hand feed the little birds that are scattered throughout the sanctuary.
The trails are easily manageable with a stroller and the wooden walkways are maintained well.
We try to come out here at least 3-4 times a year.

Just an absolute beaut out there... severe thunderstorms and hail cut our visit short, but we will be back. Enjoy the couple of pics we got with our phone

A great place to enjoy nature and explore the trails. My daughter loves all the ducks Coors and especially the chickadees. Everyone we've met on our visits is very friendly and the trails are wonderful. A BIG thanks to the volunteers that maintain this wonderful place. Thank you.

Lovely experience here.

Proposed to my now fiancé here a couple weeks ago and was our first time coming here.

Absolutely worth the drive from Edmonton. Nice and quiet. Everyone we met on the trail was super respectful. Squirrels are adorable and super friendly (they aren't scared of humans and will come right up to you)
The chickadees were pretty tame aswell and landed on our camera a few times which made for a few funny photos. We did not walk very far in, but will return and enjoy the full experience.

Wooden walkways throughout with little peirs into the water in certain spots. Seen a few dirt pathways going different directions but did not get the opportunity to explore much.

Absolutely gorgeous from what we experienced. Decent amount of parking & Porta potties throughout.

10 out of 10 would recommend for any avid bird watcher, photographer or just for a stroll.
