Cates Bay Beach

Rocky beach with an entrance trail right between two houses in the area. Only street parking available next to some private property signs. Follow the sign to the beach which is through a narrow walk way. The beach is mostly pebbles and rocks so bring appropriate footwear. The water area is quite shallow as well so beware while wading as there are some sharp rocks. Really beautiful view of the mountains and the water.

Nice half day trip to Bowen Island! We stopped by this peaceful beach for relaxation and swimming. Not suitable for beginners cycling due to constant climbs. However, it's worth it!

Such a beautiful beach! It’s in the middle of a residential area and the entrance is super easy to miss! Keep a lookout for a sign saying “Public Beach Access” and stairs. There’s no parking; I just parked off to the side of the road, right in front of the stairs leading down to the beach. You’ll start hearing the waves as you walk down. Off to the left there is a residential property so you have to be mindful to stay away from there but the views are stunning nonetheless. It’s quite rocky so bring proper shoes. There were only a couple people here so seems like a quiet area to relax. Lots of wood trunks to sit on. I would definitely bring my swimming stuff next time and go in the water, as it was super nice and warm. Definitely recommend! Oh and as I left the area I saw some deer, there were 4 of them (but I didn’t get pictures of all of them) and they were super cute! Be sure not to disturb them if you see them and drive by slowly.

This beach is beautiful! The views are phenomenal and not too crowded.

Great quiet spot to relax, sunny, mountain views, sound of gentle waves, definitely worth the trip out here. The signs to the public beach access are small, pay attention to signs small signs on right hand side when heading down. No restrooms that I saw, but wasn’t looking either. Seems like pets allowed.

We drove right past the public beach entrance. There is a sign and a walkway across from the baseball field but it’s easy to miss. There is not much parking available and you need to just park on the side of the road. It was a very quiet and nice beach.

Beautiful beach! Nice and quiet when we were there (Sunday morning) and a great spot to enjoy the morning sun as well.

Awesome place where you can enjoy a beautiful view over Howe Sound, Gambier Island, Two Lions and the mountains that nest West Vancouver.

It’s very pretty beach with some outstanding views.. it has a bit of Hawai feel to it.. highly recommend!

Incredible place so quite and beautiful recommend to come and bring your bikini for summer swim remember to tell your bus driver to come and pick you up because there is no bus going up ... it's clean lake

We couldn't find the public beach entrance and drove right past it but it is a narrow hidden path that takes you right down to the water!
