This is a go to spot for my family and I every year. You can see animals are taken great care of, grounds are always so clean and staff always lovely. Worth the drive out of the city.

Such a fun place, lots of animals, and the kids were so happy, the price for admission was great , like 28$ for 4 people.. has a reptile area with the gift shop, there is a area to get food, and lots of seating. Great zoo highly recommend and it was a beautiful drive there.

We traveled from Lower Sackville and arrived about 30 minutes after the zoo opened. It took us about an hour and a half from start to finish and we took our time making our way through. The animals were all pretty active when we were there with the exception of the lions. Tigers and bobcat. I love the addition of the sandpit/play area, and watching the monkeys is always so entertaining. It is definitely a great little day trip 😀

The "Oaklawn Farm " zoo is absolutely amazing! 🦁🐼 They have a wide variety of animals from all over the world, and the exhibits are well-maintained. It's a great place to spend a day and learn about wildlife conservation. Highly recommended!!

We love stopping out to the zoo a few times every summer. We purchase a family pass and pop down on our way home from the beach or when we don't have other plans. We love visiting on the cooler rainy days. The animals are always more active or hanging closer to the fence where you can see them. Harvey, the pot bellied is one of our favorite friends to stop and say hello to.

The Oaklawn Farm Zoo is a great place to take the family that is approximately a hour and a half drive - Depending on where in Halifax you travel from. Lots to see and check out around the property.

Prices are great - Children under 3 are free. There is a gift shop as well with lots of cute stuffies, squishamellow, and other little animal figures. The cost at the gift shop isn't overly expensive, the prices range from a couple dollars for a toy grow with me egg as far as $48 I believe for an Oaklawn Farm Zoo bucket hat.

Zoo - Was very tidy and clean, the animals were out playing lots. My family and I went early and arrived before 11 as they open at 10am. The sun isn't overly hot in the early morning so the animals are more active than in the later afternoon when the sun is super hot.
Bring quarters if you want to feed the deer corn, it's a great time!!

Food - The zoo does have a canteen which was packed full with customers waiting for food and to place an order. Fries, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, onion rings and chicken strips are a few of the minor selection of food items on the list. Prices are ok.

Overall the Oaklawn Farm Zoo is a great place to check out - just make sure to check out the Lookoff in Blomindon on your way back home to Halifax. It's absolutely breathtaking.

Oaklawn Farm Zoo is a delightfully quaint zoo. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm (and adorable animals). The animals seem to be well-treated and get a good amount of space to roam around. If you don't have kids, you could see everything in about an hour if you wanted to. There are many primates, pigs, bunnies, horses, peacocks, and donkeys. They also have some owls, lions, a Canadian lynx, a black bear, and more. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in animals 👍🏻

Love going to see the animals. Such a beautiful spot for a picnic or you can order from their canteen. They also have ice cream. Cute little gift shop we always leave with something.

Took my fiance here for the first time I grew up so this was just a regular trip to the zoo for me. He got to spend some time with one of his favorite animals of goat and he got to see the zonkey and he had an absolutely amazing time. The animals all look well cared for and it didn't smell like a farm.

What a great family friendly zoo! Good size for little kids, informative for adults. Just a lovely spot to spend a few hours. Not to mention a touching story on how they got it all started. Well worth the drive.

Lots to see and lots to do, worth the admission! Nova Scotia is lucky to have a wonderful place like this. Allow 1.5 hours to comfortably view all attractions oh, a little longer if you wish to have a bite to eat on the way out and or visit the gift shop.

I'm so grateful we still have a zoo in Nova Scotia. Staffs are more than friendly and the place is clean and nice.
Thanks to the Covid, feeding animals and gathering are no longer our possible options, so don't expect the lions' dining time which happens after hours by employees only.
I myself would love to spend more time in here but with the kids your time is basically limited to their patience plus consuming some fantastic french fries.
I hope the existing (pandemic) rules change in the near future for fully vaccinated visitors that they can enjoy the zoo the way it used to be.

It is still great even with the pandemic restrictions, there are arrows to follow it has now become a touch less zoo and you can no longer feed the animals. The canteen was open for a few things there. Overall it was great and we will go back again before the zoo closes for the year.

I recently went and was surprised at how much it has been downsized and how small the areas for the larger animals has gotten. A childhood favorite I would hate to see close from lack of support and funding. Please if you are thinking of going, go. The animals were lively and entertaining, the park clean and quiet, an excellent way to spend an afternoon.

We really enjoyed our visit to the zoo today. The enclosures were large, the signage was informative, the facilities were clean, and the animals appeared to be well cared for. We would have liked to see a larger enclosure for the tiger as she was pacing a lot. We will definitely be back!

This zoo was awesome. Haven’t been in years and it was just as fun as I remembered. I found the pricing really affordable and the farm is way bigger than expected! All the animals seem to be well fed and taken care of. Truly an awesome and accessible childhood memory.

A great place for outings, especially on weekends and holidays (Summer). This farm called zoo has a gift shop, canteen and also variety of animals and spices. Yards and Fields are very wide. I would recommend this place specifically because it has Peacocks, Tiger, Lion and many more.
