Great store. Alex and Helen truly care about customers. You'll never find this service at a big box store. Unfortunately we've lost this kind of customer service nowadays. Nice to know there's still places like this. The store is older and small but they carry the essentials, not hundreds of items you really don't need. Plus they can order almost anything your after if its not in stock. I deal with this store all the time. I'd rather my hard earned dollars go to someone like Alex and Helen then multi-national big box stores who only care about money and put the customer last. If you value customer service then check this store first. As for warranty like a previous customer said, I've never had issues here, they go the extra mile to make sure your taken care of. You can't always please everyone and I suspect the other customers negative review to be false and inaccurate.

Alex and Helen are quite knowledgeable and the staff know their stuff. Always willing to help. Small store but lots of items. They always have everything I need including gravel and screening, Just ask!

I am a small contractor and prefer going here than the big box store. Why? because I am in and out in 2 minutes,, I have to park far and walk miles at the big box store and I always buy stuff I don't need. Then wait in line for 5 minutes. Not here, service is exceptional and prices are good too!

Home Hardware a Canadian company employing Canadians!

This is where I go when I need to grab something for a project I'm working on. It's a very small Home Hardware, but it has an impressive stock of items, all things considered.

I've also been helped several times by a lady who works here who is incredibly helpful. She answered my plumbing questions with a lot of knowledge and all of her suggestions were on point. She was also very helpful with tips for helping my match a stain for my patio set in the backyard.

Great place to come for DIY projects.

Amazing hardware store! I came from Toronto as I was in Guelph to visit a friend. I need to buy some Latex Caulk which they had it in stock for $2.49 and also some work gloves for $3.27.

The staff is friendly and are all helpful and supportive. Their a great group of young men and women. Furthermore, the young guy that was training a new employee, you did a great job and as for the new employee, you were amazing! Definitely a store to shop at. :)

Alex saved me money by re-keying my house locks rather than buying new ones. Also came up with a clever solution to a leaky broken toilet flange when we realized builder-installed components are not replaceable with after market parts. They find the cheapest solution for you. Very experienced. I bring most of my business here because of the knowledge and experience. Big selection, prices are reasonable.

Helen and Alex made this place the “go to" for everyone in the South end who needed anything hardware related, including advice. Just ask and they had the answer. There aren't many homeowners South of Stone Road who didn't benefit from their knowledge.

But everything comes to an end, I was in there last week and for the first time, no Helen, no Alex. They retired, in secret so we couldn't make a fuss over them. It fits their personalities to be sure, but it would have been nice to thank them one last time.

I have no doubt the JL's team will keep customers just as satisfied, but without Helen and Alex, the experience will be lacking.

Enjoy retirement you two, you've earned every bit of it.

I constantly come here for what I need. Staff is always helpful. I needed a connector for plumbing I was finishing, realized this last minute as they were closing. I called and they kept the doors open an extra ten minutes just to help me out. I don't think any big stores would do that. Best people ever

Great hardware store, its all about the customer service!! Helen is amazing, you can go to her with any question and she has you solved within seconds. You can't put a price on that, just fantastic.

Love this store, when I need something out of the ordinary like a 4" diamond hole saw I go here. nobody had that size, these guys had 3", 4", 5". Needed a 5" hoodfan vent cap which nobody has, they have a choice of multiple 5" and a 6".

They have everything. It's my go to store when all else fails.

Great customer service. While most stores avoid making eye contact with a customer the service reps here go out of their way to help you. Very nice women helped me with some plumbing parts.

A 'smaller' home hardware then you're probably used to, but this place likely has what you're looking for and if you can't find it, the staff who work here are very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable. No complaints and this location definitely has that local feel to it.

I had 5 items to get to help my son set up his new townhouse. None of them were expensive. I asked the clerk where to start. He walked me from counter to counter and got exactly what I needed in record time. Try that at a Big Box store!

Small, but they have had everything I was looking for every single visit, love that they are a hardware store that can still sell you five nails and two screws.

The store is a little small, but it it tightly packed with many many useful items. The owners of this location are amazingly helpful. The rest of the staff are also quite decent.

Alex & Helen operate a true old fashioned hardware store where service is first and foremost - you don't have to purchase pre packaged nuts and bolts - just the number you want - and if you need a left hand threaded squidgy bolt - if it's made they'll have it. As for prices - as good or better than the competition ( Cdn Tire, TSC) - and they know where everything is located in their store unlike many of the poorly trained staff elsewhere.
Excellent parking but access in and out of Gordon St can be tricky at rush hour due to volume of traffic -
