Long & McQuade Musical Instruments

Had a complicated sound gig I rented equipment for, and when the event changed I needed to return for a second trip to rentals for extra cabling. Ben was so on top of it that just overhearing me talk about the issues I was anticipating on the phone had the cabling solutions I needed ready for me so I was back on my way. Always so friendly and so professional. Ben’s a Gem!

Nate was very helpful and took his time to show me all options for my new recording studio. Offered a great option to rent the equipment before purchasing. Nice atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.

Excellent service at this store. I recently purchased a Roland piano from this location. The staff was extremely helpful with my questions and made the process a very smooth one. This piano purchase was a big decision for me and the staff were able to provide valuable insights which helped me arrive at the right decision. This L&M location is quite nice as well. There's a solid selection of pianos, guitars, synths, etc. to try out.

Thanks to Missy for getting me to get the Fender Acoustic amp I wanted. She went out of her way to contact other stores and arrange a trade in and an exchange to get me the amp. Great store, great staff.

I’ve always had a good experience at all the locations I’ve visited at Long and Mcquade but the Guelph location in particular is exceptional. All the staff there are friendly, knowledgeable and will go over a beyond to make sure you are a happy customer and satisfied with your purchases. Guelph will always be my go to;)

I've been dealing with L&M since I was a teenager in the 80s, and they were willing to rent amps and instruments out of their Toronto store to a bunch of 14 year olds. This experience has kept them on my radar over the years and I haven't been disappointed (as they probably guess if they look at my purchase history...I have literally dropped tens of thousands of dollars here over the years).

The Guelph store in particular is a place I love to shop. The staff is excellent, and while I remember a time when Ben was just an employee, he has deservedly risen to manage the location and it couldn't be in better hands. I did have an issue with a special order, and while it dragged on for longer than I'd like, in the end it was L&M that took action to get me what I needed. The distributor in this case was useless, but at least L&M cared enough about the customer in the end to make it work regardless. For a large chain, you can get surprisingly personalised service from your local store.

The in-store selection is typically good, but note that L&M is an enormous retailer in Canada and must move a ludicrous amount of product every year resulting in vendor relationships which are second to none. If they don't have what you want, you can rest assured they can get it, and in a timely manner as their logistics chain seems to be very well organised. When I know exactly what I want, L&M is typically my destination.

I have started using their online retail services recently, and my experiences with that have also been excellent.

I started to play piano after a decade long break and this store had all the material and experienced staff to help me get back into playing!

The Guelph store is the best location I have visited so far...I always find what I need for my musical needs, very organized and products are easy to find. The staff is great and especially Ben, the manager. He is very friendly, patient and always trying to go above and beyond to please customers. The Guelph location is always my first stop when I visit Long and McQuade. I would give 6 starts if I'd have the choice...Thanks Ben!

We went to the Guelph location after a very unsatisfactory visit to the Cambridge store. Had help from several staff in choosing and purchasing a digital keyboard for our kid to take to college in the fall. Thanks for a great experience. We'll definitely be back.

Great store and staff. Super friendly and not pushy. If you’re lucky, you’ll find some rare/hard to find items. Bought my Les Paul and rented other numerous guitars and amps there. Weird to say, but I love the smell too…

I've bought a few thing from them before, last weekend I did my first rental of audio equipment and lighting. I couldn't be happier with the service, happy to help with any questions i had and were legitimately excited for me. 10/10 can't wait to rent again and would absolutely reccomend their services!

Products are good, but staff even better. Ben from the front desk staff is great. The equipment I had purchased a few days earlier was defective, but Ben was quick to find an even better solution to my home studio recording requirements. I will continue to purchase from this location. Important to note that previous interactions have also been very positive. Kudos to the whole team!
