Café des Amis - Pavillon du Lac-aux-Castors

A cafe with a mesmerising view. You can sip on the coffee and spend some idle time enjoying the beauty of nature. Coffee is good. They don’t have an elaborate menu but what they have on it is good stuff. Price is reasonable too.

Most recommendable place in summer breakfast coffee and light meal brunch in weekend.

I tried the sandwich, hot dog, tea, treats, as well as milk shake here. All are really good and high quality. Tea flavors are great and would suggest to try tea here with sandwich. We also ordered the kombucha, it was great indeed

NOT the Lac-aux-Castors Pavilion location. June 2022, there is a small outlet on the rear side of the Chalet de Mont-Royal, offering hot and cold drinks, non-dairy milks, two sandwiches, packets of chips and a few other snacks. There’s a vegan sandwich! It was good: olive ciabatta with hummus, grilled zucchini, tomato, lettuce and ?marinated eggplant? A satisfying meal. So glad to find something vegan in this location. Out front, of course, lies the splendid view of Montreal.

The cafe is amazing with a good selection of food. I had a cafe latte and a slice of cake. The barista is very sweet and took our order pretty quickly. The view from here is amazing. Nice place to take a break during the cold outdoors. A good view of the ice rink and surrounding park.

Great for a refreshment and a bite to eat on the mountain. Wonderful view and delicious vegan brownies!

I would give this place 6 stars! Their Saumon Fume bagel is heavenly! Ginger, capers, cheese!

Excellent spot for breakfast after a hike up the mountain. Very friendly staff and delicious food.

Great hot chocolates, less sugar more cacao. The staff is fast and efficient. The bathrooms are clean and are equipped with a change table.

Nice place in summer to come and enjoy the sun or simply to relax. You can also do some boat on the lake during summer.

A surprise find at Beaver Lake. I wasn't expecting there to be a full café menu and it's pretty affordable too. Quick and friendly service with decent portion sizes to hold you before your walk around the park.

Great place right on the lake. Outdoor seating is lovely and the gazpacho was very refreshing.

It is a very beautiful place , especially in the winters for sledging, skiing and ice skating. Also, this place has small cabins for picnics by the lake. By the looks of it , it will be a very beautiful picnic spot during the summers as well!!

They go out of their way to feed people even with the most uncommon allergies/ dietary restrictions. The portions are big and worth it ! Always pretty to look at the lake.
Vegetarian and vegan options ! ( The chef is a vegetarian herself I heard.)

Beautiful. In every season. The café are is upstairs, with a large deck (covid had resulted in a reconfig, and it is not yet back to normal. The cafe has quite a selection, but it is snacks/light fare. The good news is they do offer beer and cider. The cafe is located next to one of the two (paid) parking lots.

Nice view of the park. Had a vegan brownie and it was really good. The staff were friendly and spoke English. Not much seating outside but other than that it was great.
