Great selection and the staff will go out of their way to help you! Thanks to the staff walking me through step by step repairs in the store I’ve been able to fix so many parts of my home! And I do mean permanent fixes, not temporary repair jobs. One of the staff even dropped off a couple of deck chairs at my condo so I wouldn’t have to carry them all the way home. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I absolutely would!

I love Gandy’s Home Hardware! The staff are always very helpful & knowledgeable, and are understanding when I ask a confusing question (eg, when I don’t know what something is called so have to describe it or call it by a totally wrong name). The suggestions are always very practical. The range of things they stock is great, and I love that it’s walking distance in the neighborhood. Plus, they do Scene points now, and I can redeem there to cover the extra things I inevitably remember I needed when I’m in the store.

NEW ADDRESS!! 2856 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6K 2G7 - Bright, well laid out aisles, neatly stocked with various homewares and more than enough hardwares to do most home repairs and/or projects. But of course not for major renovations or decorating projects - for those you’d want to go to Home Depot, where I’d many times get bewildered and lost amongst all the variety and choice of items. Here, the staff is very friendly, helpful and indeed tries to understand what we laymen needs or wants to do, and show what all we need.I guess that since home hardwares are individually owned, that this is the big difference from the big box stores which caters to the trades and more professional carpenters, plumbers and electricians etc. Not particularly cheap but fair prices and welcoming for us amateur gardeners, home decorators and those forced to become their own handyman! By the way, this is their new location - I’ve gone to their west 4th location for years and was dismayed that I couldn’t find it recently!

This is one of the oldest Home Hardware store in Kitsilano. The store has been here at this location for decades.

It is a fairly small store but packed full of things for the house, tools, hardware, paints, electricals and more.

People here are knowledgeable and know about the things they sell.

They provide good suggestions and excellent service.

They the Boyz. A 15 year old helped me and he had more wisdom than any old man in a regular HH. 10/10 will return

I came in there guns ablaze and I was all like “you guys cut keys?” And they were all like “yeah” and then I was all like “ok, can you do two sets of keys?” And they was all like “yeah” so I was all like “let’s do this!”

Neighborhood hardware store. Tools, paints, adhesives, gardening supplies, etc. They have plenty of home improvement solutions supplies. Understand that is not like a huge hardware store with huge selection but It has the necesary stuff to fix problems in your appartment / house. The staff is great and always available to help. If they don't have what you are looking for, they will give you the right recommendation. The store is always tidy and well organized.

I have been shopping at Gandy’s for over 30 years and through every ownership and management change the staff are consistently helpful, humorous, and attentive.
I went in to the store yesterday afternoon in search of a very specific Christmas light, and even though none were on the shelf one of the associates ( Ian ) went above and beyond and set out to search upstairs in the storage room.
Success! I also have to point out this fellow was doing triple duty still took the time to help me and numerous other customers at the same time. It was refreshing to see this amount of energy and dedication.

I love this hardware store so much! They are always so friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond. I recently called asking about a window birdfeeder I was looking for and without hesitation, they offered to put the last one remaining on hold for me. Then I went in asking about a small painting project and Aileen helped me pick out all the right stuff, down to the paint brush, sanding paper, etc and walked me through the process so patiently and with such care. Then the next day I needed to get something else and she remembered my name and that really meant a lot to me. With their excellent customer service, not only are they helpful but you can feel that they care and that means everything to me, it's the kind of business I want to support. I have lived in the neighbourhood for 15 years and this is my go to place and though I am not a handy gal at all, with their care and expertise, I feel empowered and confident to tackle any job! They are themselves the best tool and best instructions and I'm so grateful to call them my neighbourhood store :).

All Home Depot/Home Hardwares have great services in general, but this place gave us a lasting impression. We went to buy some gardening supplies and the measuring of the fence material we bought was longer than we wanted. After hearing that we don’t have the tools to cut the material at home, this awesome staff who works there offered to cut it for us in-shop. We really appreciate his above and beyond gesture! Thank you so much.

I have found my way to this home hardware for a wide variety of things and am never disappointed. They are incredibly helpful and kind and even invite my dog in with me and give her a treat each time. I’m not one to write reviews really but I couldn’t help but think they deserve a great one.

Fantastically sorted - they WILL have what you need. Or get it for you. This is my first stop, before the big box stores. The staff is very knowledgeable and always available to help. Highly recommended.
