This park has to be one of my favorite hiking areas, the scenery is incredible, there is the Salmon hatchery were they give you a lot of info about all the diffrent kinds of salmon plus you can see all the young salmon up close. 15 minute hike or less to the Cleveland Dam and the lake wicked view from up at the top of the dam both sides. There are washrooms, you can hike the other direction down the river as well. Trails are well maintained, go early so u can get a parking spot. Wildlife, I seen a snake, a snail & a salmon.

I love the salmon hatchery, it's really awe-inspiring to see these fish swimming upstream to have a safe place for their offspring! How amazing nature is!

I have gone for many walks & trail runs in this park and it is excellent! You can also fish in it in certain areas but I have never seen anyone actually catch anything.

The Capilano River Regional Park is located in North Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. This is a great place to take photos, have a picnic, or begin a hike in nearby trails.
The park encompasses scenic views of the mountains, the Capilano River, and the Cleveland Dam. There are a number of nature and biking trails in the park, such as then0.6 km return Second Canyon Viewpoint Trail and the 15 km Capilano Pacific Trail. The Capilano Fish Hatchery in the park is about 500 metres downhill from the Cleveland Dam. There are educational displays explaining the type of work that is done there, as well as basic education about the life cycles of the fish in the area.
The 91-meter high(299ft) Cleveland Dam is the landmark dam at the head of the Capilano River in North Vancouver, that holds back Capilano Lake, also known as Capilano reservoir. Part of the Capilano River Regional Park, it stores a portion of the Lower Mainland's drinking water, and it currently supplies forty percent of the region's drinking water.

It is a park where you can see the mystery of nature and experience the encounter between important nature and humans where you can know the ecology of salmon.

These trails are no joke. We took the capilano crest trail. My mom couldn't make it up the 100s of steps at the end and I had to leave her at the fish hatchery, go get the car, and pick her up. All in all though, beautiful trails, and very very very cool salmon hatchery that is a must see operation

Beautiful park with lots of trails and good scenery along the way. Lots of big trees and near the water, so it’s nice and cool even on a hot summer afternoon.

Beautiful park year around though it’s best to visit in summer when salmon are back. Lots of trail options depending on your schedule or fitness with multiple view points!
Nice to include the hatchery if possible but not really much there.
I usually start from rabbit lane to maximize the trail and do the stairs for exercise.

A gorgeous park with scenic views of the mountains, the Capilano River, and the Cleveland Dam. The place is ideal for a family picnic and a relaxing afternoon rest.

The trailhead is comfortable for recreational distant walking or hiking. Further down the trail is the Capilano River Hatchery and it’s amazing to watch the spawning ponds and jumping salmon.

A peaceful place to commune with nature.

Such a lovely park that is free to enter and park at. Great trails to walk around on and great views. The hatchery was an interesting addition to the park visit, especially if you haven't seen one before

Lives up to its reputation. Many great viewing spots, plenty of hidden gems along the path. Great summer swim spot, certain areas of the river are popular with families and teens in the warmer months. You'll find an abundance of fishermen further up towards the dam as well. Trailheads are within walking distance of transit and there's plenty of parking around the outside of the park. Perfect place to plan a whole afternoon out.

There are trails suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers alike, though most areas involve some steep slopes or stairs, so not particularly suitable for those with more severe mobility issues.

Super worth the visit! Gorgeous walking trails and dog friendly (some parts on leash, others off). Perfect if you want to get out for both short and long walks. The fish hatchery is worth checking out and Cleveland dam is quite cool as well. Will be going back to explore more.

This park is so amazing that you would love to stay the whole day watching around nature. The dam with lake view in starting of journey towards the woods. Then it depends on how long you can go on your legs. Feels fresh in air, so clean. Lovely place to visit.
Family friendly, but you should come up with your eatery because you won't find any cafe restaurants of your choice.

Great place for an easy walk or a more challenging hike along forest paths. Some elevation but stay on the road for an easier walk. Visit the fish hatchery to see the salmon working their way up the fish ladders.

Awesome park. Makes the area ideal. Not a long trail system and not too difficult. Nice diverse range of experiences available too - inclines, dog walking paths, large dam, bridges, river, and lake views.

Definitely my favorite hike of all! Spectacular views of the river and the woods within North Vancouver. Fairly easy and flat trails that will lead you right to Capilano river where you can also visit the salmon hatchery. The trail ends up on Cleveland Damn, which is also a landmark of this hike.

Great place for a walk, pictures or a family picnic. The views of Capilano lake with the mountains in the background are gorgeous! You can see the gondola going up Grouse the distance and people paragliding from the mountain on sunny days. You can walk on the right hand side down a trail to get a view of Cleveland Dam as well as walk across the top and get a view from above!

There are a couple picnic tables and they have ledges on the end to hold BBQs. Lots of beautiful trees great views and some green space for the kids to play. Great place for a date, with family or just to walk around and spend some time in nature.

Pictures came up in random order. First is the sun coming through the mist on tandem from the lower trail, the second is the walkway above the dam, third is the top is the lower trail, 4th is looking from the top of the trail to the fenced lookout area, then the bathrooms, the view just below the lake, the lakefront toward the parking lot, from the lower trail, then last two pics are of the water flowing from the dam. Clearly worth a visit and parking is free.
