My husband and I recently had the pleasure of working with Matt as our personal trainer, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we started, Matt's dedication and expertise were evident. I was into some amateur strongman but my last Trainer’s programming got me developing some pretty bad injuries in my shoulder, knee and back which put me out of action for months.

Matt actually takes the time to develop effective programs and ensures they’re performed right. I’m actually making progress towards my pre-injury standards.

Matt is a great guy who knows what he’s talking about and will push you towards your goals while making sure you get there in one piece.

Matt is an absolutely incredible trainer, vastly knowledgeable in body mechanics, effective training techniques, and nutrition. He also happens to be highly charismatic and supportive to his clients which makes training with him an absolute pleasure. As a relative beginner to the gym, Matt helped me to establish the fundamentals, as well as personalized our work outs to address persistent sciatic pain which has been a huge relief. To my surprise, his cliental is quite diverse, ranging from older adults looking to correct health problems, ‘gym bros’ trying to keep themselves in shape, as well as total beginners. I would definitely recommend Matt to anyone looking for a knowledgeable trainer in Waterloo Region.

I have been working with professional fitness coaches for nearly 4 years, and nothing comes close to the experience with Matt. I came in with pelvic dysfunction, pain in my hips and lower back, problems with my ankles/gait when walking and overall frustration. I have seen countless physical therapists and have never been pain free, especially in my lower back. I have a history of concussions and terrible balance as well.

From the first assessment - Matt saw things that everyone else has missed. He’s taught me how to lift appropriately for my body (I’m tall!), how to BREATHE properly and completely changed my quality of life. And he’s done so with a smile on his face and the utmost care and patience at all times.

Matt is the best lifting coach I’ve ever had. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but he’s also one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of being friends with. Lil’s gym is a small and welcoming community. Training with Matt and becoming a member of the community was something I really needed. In terms of lifting progress when I met Matt I had experience with the hex deadlift as I had issues pulling conventional. I previously would max out around 245lb x5. Not only did Matt help me to diagnose and correct the nerve issue I had, with his guidance and some grit I was able to work up to a 1rm of 405lb conventional at 150lb body weight. I would highly recommend his services.

I can't say enough great things about Matt! After my shoulder surgery didn't go as planned, I was feeling really discouraged and frustrated with my recovery process. But then, I was lucky enough to be introduced to Matt, and he completely turned things around for me.

Matt is one of the most passionate and knowledgeable trainers I've ever encountered. He truly cares about each and every one of his clients, and he takes the time to create a personalized plan that addresses your specific needs and goals. When I first started working with him, he took the time to get to know me and my injury history, and he really listened to my concerns and limitations.

From there, Matt helped me build a recovery plan that was tailored to my needs and abilities. He was patient and understanding throughout the whole process, and he was always willing to modify things as needed to ensure that I was making progress and feeling comfortable with each exercise.

Last August, I finally bit the bullet and decided to seek out a personal trainer. I knew I needed to take my health more seriously and start recovering from the ordeal of the previous few years, but worries of money, the time commitment, and getting up early enough to hit the gym before work, were constantly holding me back.

I met with a few different personal trainers before I found Matt at Titan Training. Nothing against the other trainers, but I spoke with Matt for over an hour, and he's so incredibly friendly and likeable, my mind was put at ease, and I took the plunge into training with him.

Three months in, I am so happy I took that plunge. Matt automatically zeroed in on the areas that need the most work; a well- rounded approach to overall fitness and wellbeing, but especially building up my energy and working on some mobility issues that have been plaguing me for years. Matt's also given me some stretches and exercises I can work on at home in between our gym sessions.

I've got a long way to go, but now I know I'll have a fighting chance with Matt's help. The past few years have been very difficult, but Matt's guiding me through the recovery, and I know I'll be better equipped to deal with life if I'm fighting fit!

Thank you for all your advice, support, humour, and time, Matt. I cannot recommend you or your personal training services enough.

I have been training with Coach Matt for a few years now and I cannot recommend him enough! He brings a level of knowledge and support to his training that has made a real difference in my ability to meet my fitness goals. Matt is an amazing coach. He's adept at adjusting workouts to the needs of his clients, whether due to injury, age, or chronic illness that affects mobility and flexibility. He's intelligent, upbeat, funny, and personable-- not just an excellent coach, but a pretty damn fine human being.

Matt has a wealth of knowledge about the body and its functioning. You won't just get a workout, you'll get information on why you're doing what you're doing, why it works, and how a small shift in stance or grip can increase your stability and power on a lift. He is relentlessly supportive, and there's nobody I'd rather have in my corner.

Matt is absolutely the most knowledgable personal trainer I have ever worked with. He’s helped me go through the best and most sustainable body transformation I have gone through so far. His training programs are definitely killer, but the results more than make up for it. I feel healthier, I look better, my energy levels are always high, and I sleep like a baby. Matt’s encouragement during training has helped me break personal records in timeframes I’ve never thought were possible.

He’s also helped me through some pretty painful shoulder mobility problems that I had developed from years of poor posture. He showed me a whole bunch of exercises and stretches that have helped me get rid of any pain I experienced when lifting, and my mobility has improved tremendously in the 8 months I have been working with him.

He always has answers to even my stupidest questions, and will go on hour long highly informative talks if nobody stops him. If ever he doesn’t have an answer for me (which is very rare), he always gets back to me the next time I see him with a very well researched plan and explanation for whatever it is I need.

I recommend training with Matt to everybody I know, and I owe a lot of my progress to him.

Today was my last session in person with Matt. It was bittersweet. It was bitter because of the simple fact I'm moving away and won't get to experience this man's (and this gym's) heart in my life anymore.

Matt is the best at what he does. He knows PEOPLE. That's not only the body, but also the mind and soul. He pulled up a chair and listened just as well if not better than setting up the next set. This is what kept me growing and improving as a man. I am so much stronger now than I was 10 months ago. My body composition has changed, and that includes the mental. Taking with me what I gained here, learned here - in the fire, that's the sweet. It would have never happened with out Matt.

It is impossible to put my experience into words but here goes...

Throughout the last year, I have been privileged to work with Matt at Titan Training and train with him 1 on 1 toward achieving my goals in strength training. Before working together Matt took the time necessary to truly get to know me. He strived to understand why I wanted to achieve my sought ought goals, encouraged me to look deeper, and challenged my understanding of why I was coming to the gym in the first place. With all this information in hand, we embarked on a yearlong journey that molded me into the man I am today.

Using fitness as a foundation Matt designed my plans not only for me to grow physically but to grow mentally. Each week he took the time to assess my progress on both dimensions and speak to me as a real person, not just a number. As the weeks progressed, he continued to keep me engaged in the program with stimulating training plans and his comforting wisdom. I can confidently say that through Matts's organized training style, caring personality, and inspirational outlook I am now on the path I am supposed to be on. I have seen changes in my body I have never thought possible and found a peace within it that I never knew existed.

This guy treat's everyone with the the utmost positivity and exemplary attention when you're working with him to achieve your fitness goals. Not only is the man obviously very smart with fitness but he practically has x-ray vision when it comes to solving your technical and physical requirements to be a healthy happy and functional individual.

I sought out for a personal trainer to help me as I was just beginning a paramedic program and I needed to pass a rigorous lift circuit by the end of the first term in order to continue on in the program. Before beginning training with Matt, I had never lifted a weight in my life.
Matt structured a program specifically for me to ensure I would be ready to succeed in my test. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable in all things about the body and it’s mechanics, he truly cares about his clients and will be your biggest cheerleader.
There were countless times where I doubted myself and thought I would fail my physical test, but Matt always had confidence in me and always encouraged me. I passed my physical test and I truly could not have done it without him and his guidance and support.
Some other things I accomplished with Matt were being able to do push-ups when previously I could never! We also started deadlifting and 85lbs was a struggle for me, then 7 months later and my best is 200lbs.
Training with Matt was an absolute joy and I cannot speak highly enough of him.

Matt is an amazing person and a fantastic personal trainer/coach.

I'm an ex NCAA athlete. I took on a sedentary lifestyle and as a result worsened existing injuries while also adding new ones. The first thing Matt did was assessed my current state and figured what needed to be done to get rid of my back and knee pain. Within a very short period of time I was able to walk up and down stairs without wincing in pain.

Matt has been very attentive to the things that work for me and adjusted his workout plans to suit my needs. Not only that, but Matt is a fantastic conversationalist and cares deeply about not only your physical health a but your mental health too.

I'm hitting goals, getting stronger, and losing weight and I wouldn't be able to do it without Matt. Thank you.

I guess I have known Matt for about 5 years now. He has been able to help me repair my years of abuse to my body when no one else could. His knowledge and attention to details set him apart from all other trainers I have worked with . I believe there is a reason why he is sought out by professional athletes and people wanting to truest feel better about themselves . I am lucky to have him in my corner
