This facility has 2 arena's with excellent seating to view games. Handicap parking and accessibility. Washroom facilities which are nicely maintained. They also have a walking track with designated slow, medium and fast lanes.

i came to the activa sportsplex to watch a friend's son play hockey vs the kitchener jr. rangers, so i just wanted to share my experience and opinions.

the activa sportsplex (AS) in kitchener, is a modern-day, environmentally friendly facility that has 2 nhl-size rinks, a walking track on the top level on of the rinks, a workout room and a boxing training facility.

what i appreciate about the walking track, it is available to the public year round, with excellent daily hours, at no cost of admission. very thoughtful to provide such for people to have an opportunity to get their walking exercise in an indoor climate controlled environment. 💯

there are also two rooms available to rent for meetings and banquets. the facility hosts public skating, organized hockey (jr rangers) and shinny hockey games. they do have a food/snack service that comes with limited hours.

parking on the property is in abundance, and free of charge for visitors. people here are polite, some friendly, but overall it is a welcoming environment. i like the usage of natural light that brightens the interior.

bonus: really appreciated the pictures and displays of nhl guys that were involved with kitchener minor hockey. the scott stevens pictures and jersey frame were really nice. 🔥

this is my 2nd hockey facility that i've visited in kitchener this year. with AS, just like the aud, the city of kitchener does a great job in maintaining their hockey facilities! 💙

bottom line: i would return to the AS to watch hockey games. i would recommend AS to to those for watching and playing hockey games.

Walking track was something I used to use when I went to high school. Two ice rings and even a boxing ring! Very clean, amazing staff ;) Even has a snack bar. Also has vending machines!

I use the walking track when I don't feel like walking outside and is wonderful. It's nice to have somewhere free to go and it's a very clean facility. I like that users are ask to bring dry, clean footwear to put on.

Clean dressing rooms, good ice conditions, and the walking track is pretty great. It can be a bit of a pain if you forget to grab the room key as you head to the ice because all dressing rooms lock automatically (use proximity fob to open), but the staff are friendly and will help out if you get yourself locked out.

Has lots of space, ice rinks are a fair size, very clean building. I love coming to this arena when hockey season starts.

Great sporting venue. We went out to support the KW minor hockey association with their tournament with some of our slush machines. The staff was very helpful and the facility was nice and clean and everyone seemed to be happy . Always a good thing.

This arena has 2 rinks: Tom Graham and PJD.

The Tom Graham rink doesn't have great seating. In order to get a good view of a hockey game, you should try to sit on the top or 2nd top row (there are 4 rows) on the bleachers. Otherwise, your best is standing, not in front of the bleachers though.
If you are a person who is normally cold, bundle up, or bring a blanket, the viewing is cold.
If you have accessibility issues, there's a ramp on one of the far ends you can sit at. Often, there are also a couple chairs on the ramp, which is nice.

The PJD rink, on the other hand, has amazing seats. There is an area for accessibility seating as well. Note, there is an elevator beside the skate sharpening shop you can take to get up there.

There is an amazing walking track above Tom Graham rink as well. Bring indoor/walking shoes. It's cold, so bring a coat! If you do a few laps, you may warm up.

There are washrooms on the first and second levels.

The place is well kept and is clean.

They have a concession stand with fries, sausages, and drinks on the 2nd floor.
Also, have a vending machine on the lower level.

Has a small store on the lower level that you can bring your skates to get sharpened at. They have a few hickey related items for sale.

It's a great complex with many change rooms for hockey and two rinks. One rink had comfortable seating, one does not, though it does have a walking track above it if you wanted to exercise while you wait. There is a cafe upstairs, and a boxing club on the main floor. It is a very nice facility overall.

Nice ice, well maintained arena. Some of the best custodians who will let a game go a little extra if there's nothing scheduled afterwards. Most change rooms have 4 showers so no line ups. Favorite arena in KW

Hockey tournament was well organized. Proof of vaccine required. Sadly, walking track was closed during the tournament. Washrooms were clean. No snack bar open. Skates can be sharpened.

great hockey facility, mostly because as a parent the walking track lets me get my exercise for the hour long wait before my daughters game. The track is a nice wood surface and there is plenty of natural light coming in through large windows.
