Not only was I born at this hospital, but I just don’t know why I didn’t come here in the first place. The people here are friendly. They are considerate they move in a timely manner. Obviously they got work to do and a lot of it. It’s hard to be patient when you’re a patient but overall really felt good with the care that I got and I’m so happy that St. Mary’s is in my life for now. Thanks for taking care of me, my whole life

From the administrative staff to the nurses and all the techs the staff in Nuclear Medicine is so lovely. Their kindness is so appreciated. The wait times are short and they move with care for their patients. The department is immaculate and communication is fantastic

I live in Cambridge but their staff and wait times such.
I decided to try St. Mary's. It was a great experience from start to finish, max 3 hours. From triage to seeing the Dr and being treated. I would definitely use this hospital if I need emergency services in the future. You guys are awesome!

It feels weird to be rating a hospital, but I had a great experience here and wanted to give credit where it’s due. I recently had surgery at St. Mary’s and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. From the moment I walked in, Len helped get me where I needed to go. I had the pleasure of dealing with the lovely women in the PHIU unit (Mel) as well as Dr. Jolly. Thank you to everyone for making me feel at ease during a somewhat intimidating event.

I had a really good experience with the ER department when I went in with a pregnancy complication. Total time it took was 2 hours to see me , take tests and discuss the results. The staff were really friendly, comforting and would really listen to you. The doctor was also attentive and would also listen to what you had to say and not dismiss you. Over all great experience.

I went to emerge tonight and was very impressed with St. Mary's Hospital staff! Friendly, calming, and efficient. I was registered, had blood work and a few tests and saw a doctor and was out in about 2 hrs!! They were so nice and compassionate towards me and really delivered stellar care! I appreciate each and every one of the healthcare workers I dealt with!

I just want to immensely thank every single staff member in the ER the day of June 25th. Especially to the lovely nurse at triage, I didn’t get your name, but your dedication and actually taking the time to look into my case to make sure I wasn’t medically dismissed as I had been one week prior (as a woman presenting with abdominal pain, but I had internal bleeding and sent home), you helped save my life last night and I was able to get the emergency surgery I needed. Thank you, to every single staff member at St. Mary’s. Words can’t describe how kind and supportive everyone is.

Went to the ER on a Saturday morning. Was in and out in about two hours. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating and seemed to work well together too. As good of a hospital visit as you can expect tbh.

At the outset, I'd like to compliment staff at the Walk-in Clinic at Westmount & Victoria. I was in and out in no time with a prescription, and they sent me to St. Mary's Emerg for a follow-up and tests. Like many reviewers, I found the hospital staff to be efficient and generally pleasant. I hardly had time to sit down, as I was taken to one ward and then another. Within the space of 4 hours I had registered, taken a blood test, had a lengthy examination, saw a doctor and received an additional prescription. They also contacted a specialist who has since contacted me. My observations showed that at 3:30pm (it was a weekday) half the chairs in Emerg were empty.... seriously. I expected the worst and received the best. If they ever do decide to build a Mega Hospital, I know there are many who would miss St. Mary's. From my point of view, it works, so why even think of getting rid of it? I've been receiving excellent care at this location since 2005.

I have to give a 5 star to the emergency team at St.Mary’s. From triage to seeing a doctor was flawless. We did have to wait but they’ve developed a process to make the wait feel shorter. I also appreciate being talked to rather than talked at, if you know what I mean. Thank you!

Such caring staff. All the diagnostic imaging techs welcomed me, explained everything to me, and made sure I was comfortable. Thank you, SMGH. (The parking payment machine was broken, BTW.)

My second time visiting emergency dept , both visits were absolutely satisfactory, nurses , doctors went well and above to help me . Moving to Kitchener from Toronto was a big adjustment for me , but I can def say 100 percent thumbs up for their hard work and dedication.
I’m very happy the way my day went today and seeing and meeting such wonderful kind hearted people !

I had my second cataract completed today. While I was waiting in prep area the staff were very kind and supportive to the people nervous about the procedure. Myself I was very brave. Very smooth operation. Many thanks to all involved in providing such fine care.

2nd floor ICU department nurses ( Marisa, Lorna, etc) were amazing (despite a clerk not being nice with black funky hair and piercings). 3rd floor east nurses in Cardiology department were magnificent. The card says it all 💕

Normally hospitals are a pretty scary place to be, but I'm happy to say that I had a great experience today at St. Mary's. I went here this morning for an ultrasound on my young daughter. From check-in to the appointment everything went very quick and smoothly, and the staff were all very friendly. Even got called in a bit *before* the scheduled appointment time, which is unheard of lol! And when leaving there was even a friendly gentleman to help with paying for parking. A++ 10/10 would get sick again 😂

I came in with chest pain. I was seen for an ECG within 10 minutes. Then quickly taken care of in ambulatory care. I saw a doctor, got bloodwork done, had a chest x-ray and learned my results in under three hours (good news! I’m okay!). Considering every other hospital I’ve been to has had way longer waiting periods, it was a shock - even for chest pain related concerns, it was quick. Every staff member I spoke with was so genuinely kind and caring. The doctor I saw also gave me quick but detailed information about my health at the end. Best hospital experience I’ve had.

I thank the staff of St. Mary's General Hospital from the bottom of my heart for saving my loved one's life with grace, kindness, expertise and excellence. Every single housekeeper, tech, nurse, doctor, surgeon and staff were absolutely amazing and God given gifts to us. We were all (patient and family alike) treated with kindness, dignity and respect throughout the duration of our entire stay while on CVICU and 3West. I am forever grateful to St. Mary's for the excellent care we received and the miracle of life through open heart surgery that my loved one received. God bless you all and continue the wonderful work. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I went in for an ablation on September 6, 2023 and I do not have words that can describe my experience.

From registration to discharge this was an outstanding process.

All staff were extremely professional and helpful. The or/recovery room nurse were awesome, Dr Chan was the best with a fantastic bedside manner, the anaesthetist was great AND the nurses of the PHIU Unit are true angels. They quickly dealt with my anxiousness while the did what was needed to prepare me for the procedure and to be discharged after it was over.

Thank you to each of you from the bottom of my now functioning heart.

Visited emerg for the first time with a non-life threatening issue. From start to finish it was a positive experience. The triage and registration processes were streamlined and efficient. The nurses and doctor were pleasant and respectful. A big thank you to everyone!

today (Feb 14, 5pm) was my first visit to this ER room and it was very much better than the Grand River's. The nurses all seemed to be in a better mood and the young ER doctor was quite understanding and kind. The wait time was less than half of that of Grand river.
Things I thought that could be improved though were how the young worker at the entrance of the ER room was just sitting there and staring at people who came into the room and selectively offering guidance. She didn't greet nor guide people as they came in but offered help only if one seemed completely lost. I thought she needed to be more proactive. Also, I didn't like how we had to speak of our personal information (address, phone number and medical info) in front of all the other patients in the living room. Lastly the initial waiting area were quite loud and hectic with hospital personnel walking into and through the area. Some were talking casual things very loudly as if the waiting patients didn't exist. One worker came with a buggy with her baby without a uniform and just went in and out of the triage nurse area like it's her living room.. Beside these minor things the visit was excellent and I appreciate the people who made it the way it is. Will come again, thank you!
