North Whitby Off-Leash Dog Park

I love this dog park. They need to sort out the maintenance and the parking problems but I really appreciate having this on my doorstep. Note to the town: next time you out down wood chip, please put some in the giant muddy puddles so dogs don’t drink the water and get sick. Also, consider removing the parking fee: it’s not viable for people who aren’t going every day to pay an annual fee and $6 per visit when the machine doesn’t work half the time anyway is frankly ridiculous. Finally, if we can get running water out there, it would make a huge difference, both for people and for dogs.

Love this place, I take my dog all time there to the off leash area.
Also has so beautiful trails for bikes or walking
I will attack few pics. I highly recommend to go and walk there and try to use the long stairs ( located after the lake when you cross the bridge, take your left. Only walk you can’t take your bike cuz it’s too hard to carry it all the way up ) 🤗

Large facility for small and large dogs. Additionalaly there were great trails to walk on.

We just discovered this park a few weeks ago, and enjoy it. We've taken our two dogs on a couple of occasions, our 6 month and our 9 year old pups. The people we have met so far have been friendly and concerned about the behaviour of their dogs. It's a nice location with ample parking, but, it is it's own destination, down a dead end road.

Nice dog unleash park, got two trails that go by the stream. Parking is paid , if you use card you have to pay Max 6 $ for all day. Use coins suggested.

A little far, but huge fenced-off area for dogs to play and socialize. Owners are great with cleaning up after their dogs for the most part. Could be a little muddy and nasty after rain though, as with most dog parks really.

If you’re not taking your furbaby to this dog park you’re missing out. Great bunch of happy dog owners. Always.

Always love this park. It's one of the few parks in DR that has responsible dog parents. The pups there are usually great. Maybe a 2/10 chance of a fight breaking out which is the nature of dogs.

The biggest concern are the people. We had a woman leave her three uncontrollable small dogs off leash in the parking lot and they attacked my late dog. This was a couple of years ago and she was reported. Another time, a woman couldn't control her malamute who attacked my late dog. Instead of being responsible and taking her dog out of the park she kept letting him come back to us even while we were leaving. Again this was a couple of years ago.

Please be responsible. Leave the park if your dog is starting altercations. Clean up after yourself and be kind to others.

Best dog park in Durham Region currently. Please be a good owner / visitor and clean up after your pet and monitor their behaviour. Everyone should have a happy / safe experience.

Great place to take the dogs to a fenced dog park. They had a great time.

Great place to bring your large or small dog (seperate fenced in areas for each) and let them run around and play with other dogs.

Me and my wife love this dog park and so does our dog. It has a big open field to run around in. Fully fenced and there are a few trees and stones for shade. Usually you have several dogs playing or just sniffing around. The people who come here are super friendly and always leave a bowl of water behind for the next person. We will come here for years to come.

Old landfill site. Excellent use for the land, the park itself isn't the biggest but it definitely serves its purpose. There are also caged off areas for small dogs and for big dogs if you want to let your furry friend socialize but maybe keep them away from larger/ smaller breeds depending on their temperament. They often replace the mulch on the walkways too so it is a fairly clean walk for owners as well!

Its a nice big park, quiet atmosphere. They have a seperate place for small dogs which is a nice touch. They want you to pay for parking though, maybe more enforced in the summer. There's a long road to the entrance so you can see if a city vehicle is coming to write you a parking ticket.

Great location and park for your fur babies. They have a little dog and a big dog park sectioned off.

Great place , friendly pet owners. Small dog and big dog sections. Parking is paid however and min of $3 / hr. Which is not bad if it goes to help maintain the park.

Great open space separated by area for small and large dogs. Also some trails to walk around!

Being a newer dog owner frequenting the parks....the people are generally really nice. With the warmer weather coming it will be nice to get out and visit with the other dogs more.

Great amount of space. Benches and seats for the two legged kind. Well maintained space with lots of stimulating terrain features for the doggies. Nice amount of space for the small dogs too.

So glad I found this park! Not too busy, clean and well maintained. Higher fencing than the other Durham parks which is great because I have a fence jumper.
