A Simple Cremation

I am really impressed with Simple Cremations. From the moment I called them, their team guided me through this very difficult process with respect, kindness, and punctuality. Everything was perfectly smooth, in good taste, with no extra fuss, and every detail was well thought-out by them. I also very much appreciated the tributes page that they set up very promptly, and a very thoughtful handout on what to do following the funeral (which is still helping me).

I was recommended to Athena and staff at A Simple Cremation by a family friend. I am very lucky to have come across them. Athena was very kind and welcoming throughout the whole process. She also had a great deal of knowledge to pass on to myself about cremation, applying for the death benefit, etc. Lastly, her communication throughout was great. I would recommend A Simple Cremation to my closest friends and family.

I was very relieved to find out how simple and hassle free this whole process was. There was almost nothing for me to do, Toni, the funeral director handled everything as seamlessly as you could imagine. She was so polite and nice and very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was looking for. Everything was done so quickly and with no hidden charges. Highly recommended in a difficult time. From my first contact with A Simple Cremation, I felt the genuine care and compassion for what I was going through upon the loss of my husband and appreciated their guidance through the entire process. They took care of so many details I hadn't thought of and guided me through what I needed to know during this difficult time. From the first time I spoke to Dan Baxter on the phone to approximately one year later when we spoke again on the day of my Mom's death, "A Simple Cremation" provided an exemplary service to our family, fulfilling all the requirements as promised.

A Simple Cremation was amazing to deal with - from the very first phone call we made to the end. The receptionist was easy to speak to and happy to answer any and all questions, our funeral director Toni was absolutely incredible, Christina was just as incredible. They were extremely honest, empathetic and caring. Our loss was tragic and heartbreaking and they handled everything so well. There were zero hidden fees and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience as easy as possible. We can’t say enough good things about A Simple Cremation.

Toni and the other staff at A Simple Cremation went above and beyond at a difficult time to make things as simple and as clear as possible for me, not only as the daughter of the loved one that passed but, as executor too. I know our loved one was in good hands.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about A Simple Cremation. My husband arrived in hospice and I had to choose a place for him to go when he passed. After a few calls to other places, I called A Simple Cremation in Maple Ridge and was greeted by Ian immediately. (No leaving a message or put on hold like the others I called). Ian listened to my request and proceeded to give me any and all information needed that suited my needs.
My husband was transferred to the funeral home when he passed and the next day I went to see Ian at the home to discuss further details. I was greeted by such compassionate and kind staff, then left to talk with Ian in a private office.
I did not feel at any time pressured to purchase any other options than what I wanted.
At a time when life can be overwhelming to make decisions, Ian and staff couldn’t have been any kinder.
With regards to price look no further, the service and products offered to remember your loved one is than better than any of the others I looked into.

A service that is exceptional. Ian set up the cremation arrangement for my deceased son. He was methodical and very calm. His compassionate demeanor brought me much comfort. Larry delivered the cremated remains and was very helpful with the explanation of paperwork relating to the deceased. I used A Simple Cremation in 2017 when my husband passed away and it is my desire to be cremated by A Simple Cremated when the time comes. Thank you ever so much.

Our experience with working Christina, our director, was very heartfelt, caring and supportive through the entire process from start to finish. In an industry that is fraught with emotion and difficulty, I was nothing but amazed with my family’s entire experience with A Simple Cremation.
We called them two days after my father’s passing and they guided us through all the steps. Naturally with a spouse and two grown daughters, his situation had its share of conflicting ideas. We hadn’t thought things through much. But their patience and grace transcends that of angels.

I hadn’t made it home in time to say goodbye to my father and was only in town for a short time but they made the timeline work. Christina was our director and she will have my gratitude forever. Not only did she make sure everything got handled for my mother in terms of paperwork, and explained what next steps should/ could be, but when I had said there didn’t need to be a viewing, (my dad had been very I’ll for a long time) she prepared a mini view for me and I’m so glad she did because it was wonderful. Thanks for taking care of my mom AND my dad.

I know it might seem odd to go with a place called “a simple cremation” or to choose a place that is lower cost. But believe me, it felt so dignified. I felt honored and respected. Their pricing was transparent and they explained what the breakdowns were for.
If you want pomp and circumstance, by all means, go for it. But if you want simplicity, and the option for an organization to listen to what you want and do all they can to make it happen, and offer you what you don’t even know you want, they’re amazing. And witness cremation is a great choice for those who want to be with their loved ones at the last moments and be the ones to do help.

I’ve dealt with A Simple Cremation twice now; once with Dan and once with Toni. Both times they were very calm, caring and easy to deal with. The reception staff is also lovely and incredibly patient with all of our extra phone calls and questions. I highly recommend A Simple Cremation for a smooth and straight forward experience.

We highly recommend A Simple Cremation! The service was exceptional, and we greatly appreciated that they came to our home to arrange the cremation and to return our urns. The staff are genuinely caring and compassionate. The cost was 1/5 of other cremation companies, but the service was top notch. They even contacted Service Canada and CRA for us to advise payments to be stopped for OAS, CPP and GST so we didn’t have to. They will take excellent care of your loved one and you.

Working with A Simple Cremation has been an incredible experience for our family. My uncle passed away suddenly over the July long weekend, and we were so stressed and worried.
