Wholesum Refillery Shoppe

Kentville and the Annapolis Valley are lucky to have Wholesum Refillery. This store is a wonderful example of what retail could look like if we shopped with a mind toward less senseless waste, and still wanted natural, effective, and affordable products. They sell a variety of refillable products: from cleaning needs like laundry, vinegar, dishwashing, and general cleaners, hair and skincare, deodorant, makeup, household cleaning items like cloths and brushes, and an array of lovely gifts made by local suppliers. The store is small and mighty! It’s also affordable: I recently refilled a large bottle of natural dish soap and it cost $1.37.

The staff are helpful, and if you have any questions about how to start a journey of using less plastic, they are kind and knowledgeable.

I’ve added some photos of recent products I bought/refilled, including deodorant, cleaning vinegar, and laundry detergent. I’ve had the vinegar and laundry bottles for over a year and have not had to purchase any new plastic for these needs.

This is a great little store. They offer many different products that you can use to reduce your plastic waste. So far is have been able to refill hand soap and dish soap and I also found they have a saving cream bar. All of these work better than I was using before and I’m not creating more plastic. They also have many other products as well. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We will never shop anywhere else for soaps, detergents, hair, skin & all other eco friendly products! This place is the best! Very affordable & the ladies that run it are such amazing humans!

This store has excellent options for everyday household refills (I regularly buy detergent, shampoo, and body wash), as well as gift ideas (e.g. linens), and innovative ecoproducts to try (e.g. bamboo toothbrushes). The prices are fair, and the service is outstanding. If you haven't been in, I don't know what you're waiting for! Everyone should strive to make better environmental choices, and this store offers a multitude of feel-good solutions.

When Wholesum Refillery opened in Kentville I was so excited to have such an wonderful store so close to home. Every time I go in I discover something new which can help make my home more environmentally friendly. The staff are always welcoming and approachable. I have been offered help even on busy days. Love that they are committed to not only sustainability but choosing locally made when possible!

This little shop popped up last year and I couldn't be more thrilled! They have the sweetest products that are eco friendly and help reduce waste.

My favourite products I have purchased thus far have been the reusable dish cloths, the charcoal tooth tabs (they make my teeth feel so clean and sparkle!) and my Bkind mask applicator.

I love to stop in every once in a while to see what's new and also pick up last minute gifts for friends. They have the cutest greeting cards for any occasion that are made from recycled paper and wild flower seeds, such a nice touch to a gift!

I love to see Rachel and see how passionate she is about her store. I am so glad you and your friend decided to take the leap and open up.

Had an opportunity to stop in at Wholesum Refillery today and it is such a great store. So many options of great products with really good pricing. The help and service was top notch. Thank you for taking a lead with your great business.

The Wholesum Refillery is our go to for all of our supplies for our Bed & Breakfast. From laundry & dish detergent to hand soap, we love all their products. And cutting down on our plastic use is a win, win! Rachel the owner is awesome and so great to deal with! A must stop when you’re in Kentville!

This shop is such a wonderful addition to the downtown area. You just never know what you'll find here. We have needed something like this for a long time! A great place to find a gift for someone too.

Incredible place, doing incredible things

Great little shop! Unique and love the concept of reduce, reuse, refill and shopping low waste. You have the option to bring your own containers and fill them with the products you need, such as cleaning supplies and personal care items or purchasing a bottle from the store to fill with the product. They have a great selection of personal care products and cleaning supplies that are free of harsh chemicals. Great if you are sensitive or work in environments that are chemical and scent free. They source products from ethical and sustainable suppliers as well. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. Parking is street parking on a one way, and quite busy street. The store owner was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back with my own bottles for products in the future. On this occasion, I made a couple of small purchases, 10 loads of unscented laundry sheets, and a box of patchouli laundry powder for my sheets, smells amazing!
