The Cottages

Owners were gracious and professional. Cabins are clean and well kept and SUPER cute mid century, to me it's perfect but given their age they may be considered "niche" by some. Everything was well stocked (bring your own steak knives though), lots to do on-site, great location. All around good place and enjoyed our (brief) stay. Highly recommend.

This is our first time at this resort and we liked it a lot. Very close to the beach, the cabins are clean, there is a little playground for the kids, that by the way, my daughter really enjoyed. Overall a very nice place to stay with the family 👪

We were bicycling across Canada and had just ridden from Winnipeg. We pulled up to the hotel and found that it was closed for renovations. When we went over to Big Buffalo, we were told that they were not open yet either because of maintenance.
I sensed that they were nice people so I asked if they could help us by making a cabin available for the night. They did so graciously. These are great hospitality people.

We had a great experience! The couple who are in charge of the resort are super friendly and helpful, getting you everything you need right away and offering suggestions to make your stay more enjoyable. Our cabin was very clean. Loved having a/c and the use of full-size BBQs. The playground is amazing and our daughter loved playing in it! The resort is very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend staying here.

Big Buffalo Resort is a perfect family getaway. We have gone three years in a row with our kids and have only had wonderful things to say about it.

The owners are kind to us and amazing to our children. They are accommodating and helpful. The cabins are perfect for a family, with air conditioning and enough kitchen supplies for a visit. They are clean and cozy. There are barbecues for everyone to use and a fire pit for each cabin. The playground is perfect for the kids and the set-up allows kids the freedom to roam safely. The occasional visit from a deer or two is exciting every time.

Big Buffalo is a short walk or bike ride away from the beach and the store and the ice cream shop, allowing you to park your car for your whole visit. There are great hiking and cycling trails nearby as well.

I highly recommend Big Buffalo Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful summer vacation.

Unit 17 had a small fridge and hotplate. Other units have bigger fridges and full size stoves. 17 had a fabulous shower.
Bring your food and clothes and enjoy the facilities. All pots etc there to use. Convenient to everything.
Clean tidy well managed.
Lots of toys etc for kids. Very kid friendly.

We had a great time at the Big Buffalo (BB) last weekend!

The cabins were clean, very well appointed and met our needs 100%.

The BB is a great venue for families, with a nice playground area and free fire wood.

Our hosts were gracious and treated us extremely well.

We will come back next summer for sure!

BIKE FRIENDLY! Perfect for motorcycles to pull up and park right at your cabin. Dated but clean & maintained... you can tell the friendly local owners take pride in their property. Could use a better Air Conditioner but we really didn't use it much because we were usually riding!

The cottages and room is a little bit dated but everything is clean and well maintained. The owners are nice and accommodating. The playground is a big plus for family that has small kids. BBQ GRILL is clean too.

Kids and I have really enjoyed ourselves, the proprietors are very friendly and accommodating. There is a small playground for little ones to be entertained and they have books,games and puzzles in case you get caught on a rainy day and it's just a short walk to the beach from the cabins.

This place is wonderful and if you have a small family, you should spend time at Big Buff.

We have our cabin booked already for a week this summer and this will be our 6th year in a row from when my kids were 2 and 3 years old.

My kids and I love this place and the owners have been so good and kind over the years. We have so many memories with this kids playing for hours in the play area, to making friends at the BBQs and campfires, wildlife strolling through the property, riding bikes round and round the property for hours, evening strolls, hikes down the trails behind The Buff. And so much more.

I can't say enough wonderful things about it. I'm so shocked that there are reviews posted that state they weren't happy here. I can only assume they have found a Ramada Inn to spend time that may better fit their needs.

If you love nature and memories, Big Buffalo Resort is that place for you.

This place has your basic necessities and is VERY clean! We took bikes and it was a short ride to the beach. Very family-friendly place.

I love the location and the staff were awesome!! I had an amazing time with my family and we were able to sleep because it was pleasantly quiet.

Stayed here every July for years and always very welcoming great to have kids run around very respectful definitely recommend

Love this Resort, is close to the beach, kids have so much to do, and is a friendly atmosphere.

Didn't stay this time but have gone in the past. Very cozy and nice to stay at. Hoping to go again next year.
