Hospitality done right, nothing pretentious or over the top. The food is delicious, you can tell it's made with love and care. Very nice combinations of ingredients that made the meal very pleasant.

There's also an outdoor section where dogs are welcome! Definitely a recommendation to anyone passing by this quaint little town, I would be surprised if you didn't find something you like. They even cater to different portions, if the whole sandwich is too much, get a half, no extra fuss.

We loved dining on the peaceful patio of this charming restaurant in Merrickville! Everything was freshly made and so flavourful! Including the caramel butter provided on the side... super yummy on freshly made scones! Excellent service and indoor or outdoor setting. A definite 'worth the drive' from ottawa experience ... 40 minutes down the 416!! Enjoy lunch at the Cafe (closes at 3pm) then Spend the day shopping at the quaint shops down the street!

The wait wasn’t too long, the drinks and food was delicious and arrived at a great time and was a perfect amount of filling.

Staff are lovely, local art decorates the walls and the food! - I recommend The Mad sandwich - 10/10! I was shocked to see a recent google review indicate otherwise. A recent negative review did not mention the contributors foul language and socially unacceptable behaviour towards staff. I raise my ice cold glass of sangria to the staff at The Yellow Canoe - well done!

A nice spot to grab food and coffee. Their patio is by a wonderfully lush garden filled with all sorts of flowers. Perfect to relax by while enjoying your snack or meal. The server was also very polite and helpful. We got a vegetarian eggplant sandwich - the flavors were finely balanced and not too overwhelming. Would recommend.

Nice little restaurant in the beautiful Merrickville. Soup and sandwiches were very good. Service made us feel welcomed. They always put on warm smiles. This was pro the best service we had had anywhere. I highly recommend this restaurant of you go to Merrickville. Ah, their patio is very beautiful too. Everything about this restaurant reminds me of the good old time.

This is a nice spot to stop for a soup and sanwich or one of their great homemade deserts. Prety much everything is made on the spot, including their scrumptious scones. I had the tomato soup with chedar/bacon/chives scone and it was sooo nice. We topped it off with carrocake a date square, just Devine.
It is a busy place.
We ha e been back and will go out of our way to return again.

A very cozy and charming little restaurant. They have delicious soups and sandwiches. I had a ham sandwich with split pea soup, and my wife had a roast beef sandwich with roasted pepper soup. We both loved the food. Kids ordered sandwiches from the kids’ menu, and their food was okay.

We had lunch on the patio of The Yellow Canoe. Our server Molly was hilarious. Best lunch we have had in a long time. I was happy to see they had two vegetarian sandwich options on the lunch menu. I ordered the Vegetarian Grilled Eggplant, Sprouts and Havarti on focaccia.Yes I know eh? even better than it sounds. Apparently they are famous for their Sangria and they didn't disappoint. Just a great experience.

This is my first time visit to Merrickville . Very beautiful village . I absolutely love this cafe . People are friendly and welcoming. Everyone should try their dessert. It’s half sweet ( which I prefer ) , fresh and delicious. It goes very well with the coffee . I almost went to the cafe at closing time on last Monday. But , the lady is very friendly and treated us with care. It’s a must visit place for all travellers who stop by Merrickville .

A lovely place to grab lunch or a snack! Outdoor patio with garden and views of the park next to the Rideau River and canal. The Merrickville Blockhouse is just across the street. Or eat inside and enjoy the superb food in their bright and cheerful dining room. Was here this week on a very busy Sunday in Merrickville and the staff were so friendly, helpful, and courteous. I had the roast beef sandwich and the roasted red pepper soup, with their delightful signature herbed iced tea. Nowhere else I would rather have been!

Come earlier in the day in case they run out of some fresh ingredients. We had the artichoke and parmesan soup with rosemary cheddar scones, washed down with a Last Duel lager (Perth Breweries)

Lovely little cafe with delicious food. Fresh salads and good combinations of flavours. Lovely breads and scones and the desserts looked fabulous and according to my friends they were fabulous. Make a reservation if you are a larger group than 4. We were 6 guests and did reserve.

What a great little spot in the heart of Merrickville. Beautiful little back patio with garden to admire. The menu is small which is fine and love the fact they offer half sandwiches. The sandwiches are made with house made faccacia. Had the avocado and havardi cheese. Delicious! The faccacia was so light. Will definitely be back.

There is no prettier restaurant than this one. If you get a seat out by the garden. The food is amazing. And the prices can't be beat.

My wife and I stopped by here recently for lunch. We were very pleased by the great service, and the foot was great. We choose to go out to the patio, and although it rained while we were there this didn't take away at all from the experience. Worth the visit!

Excellent food and the patio is magnificent! Food was exquisite and the presentation was wonderful. Chef and kitchen staff take great care for the presentation of their meals. Fair pricing and quick service here. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping here and the other nearby shops.

Beautiful setting, lovely patio, great service, delicious salads and yummy sandwiches. Even the gluten free bread was perfect.

We love these sandwiches! The bread they are on is so delicious. I have tried almost all of the sandwiches, and both me and my partner are in agreement that “The Eggplant” is the best one! It’s a deceptively large sandwich 😂 Definitely half would be good enough for lunch! But I always order a full-size and then feel stuffed 🤣

We have been here many times for soup, sandwich, and dessert. My family has never been disappointed! It's all about the bread, so I also recommend the toast and browned butter!
