Paleontological museum of this region of Columbia and the animals it inhabited. It is a very good guided tour that last 30 to 40 minutes. Features several fossils of animals ranging up to 150 million years.

Very interesting. I had no idea the largest "find" of prehistoric sea creature fossils is in Villa de Leyva, Colombia! I'm glad we went to check it out and would recommend it. The tour guide even gave our tour in English.

Is a good show of some of the species which walked in this territory in the past.
Have good activities for the kids and they are planning to add more info and attractions for the visitor.
Great time to learn about Colombian prehistorical history

This was a much loved experience! It's a small museum but they have a lot of knowledge and information! Great exhibits. We had a non-dinosaur/fossil enthusiast with us and they even enjoyed themselves! Definitely worth a visit.
We arrived 40mins before closing time on a Monday and we're the only ones there.

Perfect place to visit with children. The guided visit to the museum is short and very engaging. There is a large collection of fossils very neatly displayed.
You can get an additional experience which consists in making your own fossil and digging for fossils.
It was worth it. The kids LOVED IT. And the admission is very affordable.
Overall an excellent experience especially if you are traveling with children under 12.

The children loved this place! The guided tour was quick and informative. The highlight were the additional packages. The children made their own plaster casts of an Ammonite, and got to dig up some fossils on their own.

The place is really worth seeing, the collection is very interesting and the guides speak English, which is for sure a plus. Also, is very best to Villa de Leyva (15 minutes car ride)

If you are Colombian or foreign around villa de Leiva, you most go here, specially if you have kids. No many people are so dedicated and focus on research and share that knowledge to others. A most go to visit.

Knowledgeable guides make a difference here.
Two of us joined three other people to listen to their English-speaking guide. We learned a lot about the exhibit and the research that is going on in the Center. Even though they have labels in English, still you get a lot more information from the guide. Don't miss this opportunity, especially since you probably won't have a guide at the nearby El Fósil .
This place (the Center) is much more informative about different kinds of fossils that can be found in the area, so go see the giant dino at El Fósil first, and then come to this Center to see other kinds of fossils and get valuable information. Both sites together will take less than two hours, maybe even an hour if you are in a hurry and don't spend much time at El Fósil and leave the Center right after the guided tour (assuming that you are lucky and don't have to wait (we did not)).

Small archaeological museum with interactive activities for children. For about $6 USD, we got to visit the exhibit, we made our own ammonite, and dug for fossils. Well preserved specimens of ichtiosaurus and several other local species.
