Even if you are not vegan you should stop by here. We had the jerk jackfruit wrap and the coconut bread and both were super delicious. What made our stay even more memorable was the owner. He sat down at our table when we were finished and we had a nice conversation. It has been a long time since we last met someone which such a kindness and warmth 😌once you meet him you know what we mean

A must visit when you come to puerto viejo! The food is amazing, we visited here everyday of our trip it was that good. The portions are great, you won’t be leaving hungry that’s for sure! & you don’t need to be vegan to enjoy here, you just need to love good food. Highly recommend the jerk breadfruit, jerk jackfruit and the jackfruit curry!

Not only is the food great but so is the community! The owner is so kind, we had really interesting conversations, I could have spoken to him all day! I’m really grateful for the time he spent with us. Whenever I left here I felt in such high spirits. This place is really good for the soul!

Highlight of our trip :)

During our time at Jammin Communidad Vegana, my girlfriend and I had an amazing experience, thanks to the incredible owner, Tems, and their dedicated staff. This place truly deserves a solid 5 stars! Tems was incredibly kind and friendly, making us feel welcome from the start. The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor, clearly made with love and care by Tems and their skilled team, which includes one other person who cooks.

We were delighted to know that everything served is completely vegan, so no worries there. The presentation of the dishes was simply beautiful, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The ambiance was perfect, with good music and the refreshing taste of fresh coconut water, giving off authentic island vibes. We also loved the thoughtful touch of having books for sale.

As for the bug pressure, while it might be a concern at times, during our visit, there was none to little bug pressure, and it didn't negatively impact our experience.

Additionally, we appreciated that even though the water was out during our visit, Tems kindly provided us with coconut water as an alternative.

Despite these minor considerations, the overall experience was fantastic. The all-outdoor seating allowed us to enjoy the beautiful surroundings while savoring our meal. And for those driving, there's parking available in the back.

The only thing to keep in mind is that everything is made fresh and from scratch by Tems and his staff, so a little extra time is needed for preparation. But trust us, the wait is definitely worth it!

Overall, Jammin Communidad Vegana, with the warm hospitality of Tems and their dedicated staff, is a must-visit for anyone in Puerto Viejo seeking delicious vegan food, great ambiance, and a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite Restaurant in Costa Rica. Vibe and service: excellent. The food!!!??! I don’t have words - you just blew my mind, body and soul. Spectacular. If I taste love, I call it soul food. Can’t wait to come back to CR and your one of the reasons for that. I am grateful to have found this place.

Super delicious food, the perfekt balance between spices and flavors. It’s absolutely worth the money. Its a super welcoming place. The owner and stuff are super open and friendly and made the experience in this cute place super relaxing. All in we would go there again!

My favourite eat in Puerto Viejo!

Really really enjoyed everything I ate here. We tried the breadfruit with sweet potato fries, jackfruit with rice and seaweed fritters. The fritters were a standout for sure. The portions are seriously LARGE.

The owner, Temps, was very friendly and welcoming. They had loads of board games and books available for you and a cute resident orange cat.

Too good to pass up a second dinner! Hearty Ital dishes served with a lot of Love and a very fresh Reggae playlist. We found Temps food shack by chance on our first night in Puerto and felt super welcomed by his warm service and life stories. We totally recommend you pay him a visit! Innovative vegan recipes cooked with skills by the man himself and his wonderful staff. Fresh cocos, tasteful jackfruit done in various ways, seaweed burger is a must! Actually, here you have the best eat-out place in the whole town.

Every element to this restaurant and the food is the damn vibe. Some of the most amazing vegan food we have had anywhere in the world. The owner was a delight to chat with and brought the experience to another level with Illuminating and interesting conversation. We left with our bellies full of delicious and compassionate food, and our hearts full with gratitude. The world needs more places like Jammin.

Jammin is a great laid back place, with a lovely atmosphere and very nice vegan food. As a solo traveller I enjoyed the conversations with other guests and the very welcoming owner. I never had Jamaican food, so I loved exploring the menu and went twice - I'm sure it would be more if my stay was longer. If I'll ever come back to Puerto Viejo, I'll definetly pay more visits!

Wonderful vegetarian food! I didn't even realize the hamburger wasn't meat! The owner is super friendly. Best rice and beans! The prices are in line with the area, but Costa Rica isn't in my budget in general.

Excellent vegan food. A very humble vibe and set up, but you can tell most of their energy goes into their food. This is Caribbean cuisine and it is a treat. Trying ingredients you’ve maybe not had before is recommended— such a the Jackfruit or Breadfruit dishes. The ackee too, but I preferred the dishes the Jackfruit and Breadfruit were in.

A Must visit in Puerto Viejo!! The food was absolutely incredible (the best I had in all of Costa Rica) and owners were lovely. I would highly recommend visiting even if you're not vegan or vegetarian. I would love to come back one day

Delicious food by any standard, but incredible vegan fare. The atmosphere is charming and rustic, near the Carribean with just a few tables. We had the house made vegan steak, which was really astounding in its texture and flavor, the rainbow salad, sweet plantains, the breadfruit "fish" stew, and a snickers bar. Everything is made from scratch, so take your time here. It was incredible. We left full, happy, healthy, and ready to come back! Thank you chef!

I really enjoyed eating at Jammin! Chill atmosphere & super high vibes. I’ve had some amazing food while in Costa Rica, but this place is at the top of my list. I’ll be dreaming of the jackfruit burger long after I leave the jungle! Don’t forget to grab a cup of Sorrel to wash it down.

We had a very nice evening in a wonderful restaurant with a very nice host! Absolutely recommended!! We chose the burgers (Seaweed and Jackfruit) - they were fantastic! This restaurant is a gem!!!

The restaurant is fully vegan. The food is amazing. For us it was the best vegan food in puerto viejo. We came here twice. The vibe is very chill and the staff very friendly. The restaurant is central but in a calm side street. Tip: Try the seaweed fritter.

PLEASE do yourself a favor, and check out Jammin while in PV. We originally stopped by on a Friday, hoping to catch open mic. But Temps, the owner, informed us that sadly someone stole the audio equipment not long ago. We almost left to go somewhere else, but THANK GOODNESS we didn't. Had the absolute best meal, with the added bonus of getting to chat with Temps. This man is seriously the coolest, and basically schooled us with his wisdom and love of life. Between the unbelievable food, and the heart opening conversation, it was one of the best nights of my time in Puerto Viejo.

GO EAT AT JAMMIN. (And, for goodness sake, leave room for one of the desserts) You won't regret it. Thank you Temps! 🫶

What a joy it was to visit and eat from this place! Me and my wife ate here 4 nights in a row if was that good ! It is one of the only all vegan places in Puerto Viejo and the owner known as 'Temps' is such a lovely guy who grew up in the UK so anyone who speaks English will be speaking to him with ease!

The food was 10/10 every time and to eat Vegan Caribbean food most nights was such a treat ! We literally tried most things off the menu and wasn't disappointed with anything tbh so be sure to try anything! Food is well priced too for what you get !

The desserts are also banging , we loved the Raw Snickers which are made by one of the workers girlfriend and there were muffins and cookies too ; plus health products for sale like sea moss and other food products.

On Fridays they do open mic where anyone can sing or play instruments which was a good vibe while eating some good food.

We hope business continues to flourish for this guy and his team! And we will definitely be back if we visit Costa Rica 🙏🏽
