🍗 Gastronomic Touring in Munich! 🥔

Stuck in Munich for the past 3 days due to weather woes, we turned our grounding into a delightful gastronomic exploration. Our latest find, the Bavaria Restaurant right across from the central railway station, deserves a shoutout.

We stumbled upon this place seeking refuge from the cold, and what a find it was! An incredible and surprisingly affordable lunch awaited us. We indulged in two hearty plats, accompanied by drinks, all for 25 euros – a rare feat in Munich.

The Käsespätzle stole the show, resembling a mac 'n' cheese but with a Bavarian twist of fried onions. The flavor is robust, almost hearty; caution, the portions are generously large – sharing is a wise move. The Schnitzel options abound, and we opted for the fish variant, impeccably fried to a satisfying crunch. The potato salad on the side added another layer of deliciousness.

This spot is a budget traveler's dream! A pro tip: consider sharing a plate; it might just be enough for two. Just be aware it's a cash-only joint (ONLY 💶), so come prepared. Highly recommend this place for an authentic and pocket-friendly Bavarian experience. 🍽💰

My husband and I ate at Bavaria 3 times during our 3 days visit Munich! Their schnitzel was crispy and big portion. The roasted potatoes were delicious and not salty. The goulash was tasteful. The service was great ... We had an Apfelstrudel that served warm. So good. They greet you with smiles... 10 10 10

Incredible atmosphere and service! Walked right over from the train station to grab a meal and we’re sat and given a beer in less than a minute! Food is amazing and homey feeling. Anything with a sauce is increíble, I got the pork chops with potatoes and needed a bit of salt but I am Hispanic. All in all WE RECOMMEND!

Soli female traveler here and this was a spectacular spot, I went about 4pm on a Wednesday, staff were great, felt perfectly comfortable and not rushed. Food was exactly what I was hoping for!

Great place about 10 minutes by foot from Hauptbahnhof (central railway station). Nice service, football games on projector screen, and great beer for a much cheaper price than at the fancy tourist attraction places. I can only recommend it.

Very good place for traditional German food and beer. The traditional pork leg is very good and the apple pie is amazing.
The waitresses speake English very well. Cash only, they do not accept cards.

This is a small quaint restaurant. Very relaxing and comfortable. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was outstanding. This is a must if you are in the west end of Munich.

Family run restaurant with excellent Bavarian food and large portions at a good price. We had great service even though they were very busy, I highly recommend it!

I ordered Helles, Bavaria and Cordon Bleu. There were many people crowded and it was hard to listen to my friend due to others' voices. The Cordon Bleu was surely big. The Bavaria was so yummy, probably best food I tried in typical German restaurants. But actually, I ordered München but Bavaria was ordered to the table.

The distances among the tables were quite narrow and it was hard to have a talk because it was crowded and noisy.

The food was outstanding and very good portions. We really enjoyed our meal here. I felt it was very authentic German food. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Cash only.

Great atmosphere and delicious food for our first meal in Germany. Highly recommend the goulash with pasta. This restaurant is much quieter and more relaxed than a typical beer garden/beer hall.

Nice place, food was good with large portions. Waiter was friendly and patient with us not speaking German. Overall the price was good too. Inside is decoratorated in traditional Bavarian decor, and they sell a lot of traditional dishes. Cash only so bring euros

A nice homey restaurant frequented by locals. Drinks at Bavaria are fairly cheap and good, and the food is quite tasty and authentic. The service was also excellent which added to the overall experience. Would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a more reserved evening

Great beer. Great Bavarian food

This restaurant is frequented by both locals and tourists. The menu offers German, Italian and other dishes. The German dishes are well prepared and hearty. The wait staff are very cordial and prices are quite reasonable. A close friend who lives in another part of Munich mentioned he comes to this restaurant quite often to meet friends. Not fancy but you'll feel at home. As I recall they don't take credit cards.

Walked a long way, thought we went too far. Nope. Found paradise if you're looking for authentic real deal this place is it food was fantastic atmosphere was great don't be put off by family seating. It's totally worth it.

Wish we had set aside more time! If anyone is intending to travel here from now until the end of August, then take advantage of the €9 Euro travel ticket. It covers all modes of public transport gor a month. Please ensure you fill in you name in BLOCK CAPITALS, SURNAME FIRST, to make it valid and carry a recognised form of id!
