Easy to reach. Safe enough for small children. The walk through the woods needs good shoes. Direction finding is well sign posted.

It's about a 45 min walk/hike to this ridge side castle ruin. The view is absolutely worth the hike, access route from the station is rather closed due to construction at the railway crossing, so be advised before following Google Maps. Other than that, it's beautiful and something one must do in Blaubeuren.

Perfect target for a walk through the forrests and a small climb onto the "garlic bolder". Great one!

Update:
Restauration is now finished and the viewpoint is open again. Great view over the "Blautal".

Die Burg wurde in den letzten Jahren sehr schön saniert. Man hat von dort aus einen wunderschönen Rundumblick auf Blaubeuren und in das Aachtal. Die Wege sind sehr gut beschildert und es gibt sehr viele Informationstafeln. Der Weg von Blaubeuren zum Rusenschloss ist gut gebar und richtig schön.

Tolle Wanderung durch den Wald zur Ruine. Festes Schuhwerk ist zu empfehlen, bei Regen,, auch wenn es am Vortag geregnet hat kann es ganz schön rutschig sein.
Man hat die Wahl ob man den bequemen Weg vom Parkplatz weg geht oder lieber den schmalen Pfad wählt, der mehr Spaß macht, dafür aber auch anstrengender ist.
Leider fehlt es an der Ruine an Sitz Möglichkeiten, keine Bank oder Tisch zum vespern.

Wirklich eine sehr schön aufbereitete Burgruine mit einem sehr schönen Ausblick über Blaubeeren wenn an dem nahegelegenen Wanderparkplatz parkt braucht man nur 20 Minuten zu Fuß man kann sogar auch sehr gerne eine längere Wanderung über die schöne Alb machen
