Only ate at the restaurant. The food was very good and the staff were all friendly. I went twice during my visit to the region. I have celiac disease and was well accommodated. The restaurant is also in a very pretty location and has a nice and comfortable interior.

We only went for the GF buffet they offered which was very tasty. Would be happy to return and stay as guests in the future.

Had excellent Black Forest cake in the middle of Black Forest. While we only ate at the restaurant (and did not stay there), the food was really good and staff was very friendly and kind. There is a small play area for kids, which our daughter really enjoyed. The menu was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. I plan to stay here next time. What a lovely sanctuary in the middle of the forest..... and a wonderful mountain location!

We came here because of some reviews of the Black Forest cake. Our intention was to stop for cake and tea but after looking at the menus we decided to dabble in a little savoury delight. Upon first glanced at the menu we found the prices to be totally reasonable. However once our meals arrived we were blown away. We each ordered a “side” portion of Spätzle for less than we paid in Freiburg and the portion was plentiful not to mention totally delicious. It was served in some sort of lovely roast meat broth and was much better than what we had tried elsewhere.

For our entree we ordered the smaller portion of Schnitzel and were blown away when each of us met face to face with TWO of the most delicious, moist and flavourful pieces of meat we’ve encountered in Germany yet.

I’ll be honest, the Black Forest cake is perfectly adequate, but nothing I would recommend driving well out of your way for, however I would totally recommend stopping here for dinner if you’re in the area! The patio outside is lovely and afforded us a beautiful sunset meal with a great view.

Over all the food is top quality delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely eat here again.

The location has views, the staff are very friendly & the food including the Black Forest cake were all delicious! Worth the visit & maybe a stay!

Very good food typical from this area, but the best is that they can make them all gluten free!!! They also have great cakes, but non of them were gluten free :-(

Great terrace with views down the valley, perfect coffee and cake setting..... perfect chill location after hiking up the waterfalls

Very good Menu. Gluten Free is offered... Their Chocolate is Gluten free and smooth to the Tongue, Many Flavors.

High up in the Black Mountains, this place has views and an extensive menu. Pleanty of vegitarian options as well. We spent a pleasant evening, enjoying the food and views. Getting there is also appitite building.

The best black Forest cake is here! Beautiful.outdoor seating looking over the valley with some yummy flammkucken and interesting drinks!

Wir waren mit einer großen Gruppe (27 Leuten) über Pfingsten im schönen Sasbachwalden.
Vorher gab es durch schlechte Absprache in unserer Gruppe und durch Buchungen verschiedener Personen einige Unstimmigkeiten mit den Zimmern.

An zwei Tagen haben wir auch im Bischenberg zu Abend gegessen. Schönes Restaurant, super Essen und der Service war wirklich toll!
Da wurde man sogar bei Wanderungen angerufen, um zu fragen, ob man Abends lieber draußen oder drinnen sitzen möchte!

Vielen Dank noch einmal für die tollen Tage und die super Absprachen. :-)
