We have had a fantastic time at the zoo. Admittedly it’s winter and many animals are inside, but despite this, the zoo was a hive of activity. They are building an incredible tiger enclosure of whicb the restaurant opens onto. I can only imagine how all the construction will be when finished in May, and the countryside transformed into Spring/Summer. Just don’t go on a Monday when the zoo itself is open but the indoor areas all closed! 😁

It's nice to revisit this place, although ticket prices have slightly increased in 2023, I'd estimate by around 30% 🤔, now costing 14 euros for adults. But, anyway, contemplating and interacting with animals, even if not in their natural environment, is always a great, calming, and educational experience 😉.
Bathing eagles, playful otters, Japanese macaques, sleeping grey seals, a peeing African elephant, rare fishes, colorful insects, and newborn freshwater stingray pups are just a few examples of the lovely and active animals you can find at this zoo.
Specifically, it's worth mentioning the rainforest pavilion, which opened in 2023. It faithfully reproduces the entire ecosystem of the forest down to the details - humidity, temperature, plant species, all of it, supplemented with informative boards. At the end of the facility, comfortable chairs allow you to sit or lay down and enjoy the projections of a virtual forest in a relaxed atmosphere. Plants like sea buckthorn, barberry, cherry laurel, and wild rose hips are abundant on the zoo's grounds, and when the berries ripen during autumn, it's even possible to taste them 😉.

Beautiful park with lots of space. Still a few historical small animal pens, but they work hard to build better enclosures as soon as possible. Great guides and staff. You need a full day to enjoy it all. Tropical rainforest house was amazing. Otters having fun all the time. The park does a lot of education for children/schools.
This time of year (mid sept) is not many guests so lots of time to take photos or just watch undisturbed. Great zoo!

The zoo was lovely with plenty of animals in big cages.
I happend to visit on a monday, so most of the houses for ex. Snakes were closed. There were a lot of cute animals and the zoo is just a bus drive away from the city center. I definitely would recommend if you're saying for multiple days, and even for a one day trip its a nice location

I liked the concept that this is more of an animal park than a regular zoo. Simple enclosures, interesting places to observe animals, especially the tower near the elephants. I am glad that the park is constantly being modernized and it keeps up with the times and modern architecture and landscape design. Great place for family fun.

Currently it's under alot of construction, especially the lion/tiger habitat, but the new South-East asia house is a very nice addition and the new polar bear habitat aswell.

Great place, had fun seeing all the animals we could see. Some were hiding because it was rainy and a bit chilly but overall it was well worth the price. The animals look like they're well kept mostly, and besides the Zoo is working on enlarging and improving the habitats so that would be something to look out for in the next few years. Only thing I thought was missing was an open Café but well, maybe it's the time and the harsh economic circumstances. Looking forward to visiting again.

A huge zoo with a wide variety of different animals. The felines weren't feeling social and I missed most of them 😄

Visited on 19th of November, -4 degrees Celsius... so it was not busy for sure 🤣

Easy to get to: we hopped on a bus from the train station and it took us straight to the zoo entrance.

Could conveniently pay by card at the machine that had English option, so there no queue and no communication drama. It was so fast and simple!

Even though there were some empty cages but we still saw a huge variety of animals! I'm 39 and have been places, but here I've seen animals I've never seen before in real life!
No shops, so you save a fortune with kids! If you want a snack, you can always go to the opposite side of the road to the mall where there's a huge variety of options that a zoo would never be able to compete with anyway. This way, everyone can choose exactly what they fancy to eat at the mall, and the zoo can focus on what it's there for: the animals...

People were complaining about the walking : to us with a full of energy 7-year-old it was perfect! Kids don't sit down long to watch the camels or bisons... they want to walk and explore. My kid would have finished the zoo in 10 minutes if things were too near, but this way, we had to walk. The kid got worn out and entertained: it was perfect! She was ravenous after all the walking, which was great because she ate like a beast with no arguments or complications 🤣

The facility is getting lots of improvements-lots of construction going on. Can't wait to return to check back on what it looks like later 💖

The amount we paid is super reasonable. So many animals to shelter and feed... there's been numerous occasions when we felt ripped off and annoyed during this holiday in Estonia, but this was definitely not like that. It is absolutely worth what they charge!

This is an interesting and quite a large zoo. This is the perfect place to come with children. The zoo has a good collection of animals from different parts of the world.

Very good value for money, some exhibits were a bit run down, Eagles, Vultures etc but you can see the zoo is working hard to make things better.

It's only €5 to get in, it's cheap for food and drink, the Polar Bear and Elephant exhibits are really good, staff are very nice.

I really enjoyed my visit.

Very well kept zoo. Fun place to visit with kids. Area is not too big and you can walk through it in few hours. Monkeys, elephants, big cats, sea lions, goats, lizards, birds, rhinos and many more.

For a little place, it's got a lot of character. The polar bears have a brand new beautiful enclosure and they are working on doing the same for the tigers. The ticket is cheap and it was nice to contribute some. They seem to be trying to improve all the time.

Really nice zoo. Although there are not many species and animals like in other central zoos, but it's worth going there. The navigation is very practical - you won't get lost and do circles around one zone. Liked there newely opened Polarium, although few more animals would be nice. But when visiting it, be prepared for walking.

Quit big and has lots of animals. Some cages are still left from very long time ago, so they don't look nice, but most parts of the zoo look really nice. You can buy birds' food and feed water birds. They also have children zoo, with tiny goats and rabbits. Very cute.

Cheap price and big zoo. People with children should bring their own pushchair because they get tired of walking and the strollers for toddlers are hard to get because of the high demand. The new polarium is beatiful and you can see polar bears swimming below the water level. For the people with cars I reccomend the gate near Ehitajate tee, because there is bigger parking lot.

One of the best options for a family trip in Tallinn. The zoo is huge, be prepared to spend more than 3 hours if you wish to see everything. They offer small carts so you can transport you children but on crowded days you may not found one available. Dont forget the map once you get there

Amazing zoo. Lots of land, a good variety of animals including elephants and pollar bears. There is a petting zoo for children with goats and rabbits. A small railway and a few cafes with a good selection of snacks. Recommend!
