So marvelous, I was spellbound by the colors which are still remaining after 3500 years. I was also surprised to know the fact that the temple is the oldest temple, oldest church and oldest mosque all at the same place. An even more shocking fact is it was discovered very recently just 70 years ago, until then it was filled with sand.

Luxor Temple remains one of Egypt's most visited and cherished historical sites. Visitors are captivated by the sheer scale and intricate artistry of the temple. Illuminated at night, the temple takes on a mystical aura, offering a different but equally impressive perspective.

One of the most stunning temples in the Luxor area. So beautiful and so accessible if staying in Luxor. Built over the two thousand years by many Pharaoh's. Alexander the Great, Caesar as well visited. Lose yourself in the history and majesty of one of the greatest open air museums in the world.

Beautiful temple within the city of Luxor, very central location. The entrance is opposite McDonald's on the other side, if you're coming off the public ferry you will have to go over the roundabout, following Google's location of the temple will make you go all the way around.

The temple has great examples of stone work, hieroglyphics and grand statues.

The sphinx road is amazing and runs more than 2 kilometres! Literally through the city, you see the path from the roads above outside the temple.

Looks great at sunrise, although if you want to take pictures best come before sunrise as the place gets busy with coach arrivals of tourists.

Loved it. Well worth the visit and I think we enjoyed it more than Karnak as it was easy to walk around with very little hassle. You can explore the temple and discover amazing carvings. There is some information to help you understand what you see.
We came in June, and so just be aware there is very little shade and you need a hat. We didn't see many people with tour guides but it was off season.

I wasn't happy that there was a young man hovering around the toilets asking for a payment, so I refused to use the bathroom having just bought a ticket to get in. It wasn't clear if he worked on the site or not.

You can't see this temple without entering it haha

Just kidding. You should enter the temple for great experience

But beware from Camel/Horse Riders

There's a park near the Temple. You can enjoy your night in the park beside the temple

In night it would be awesome if you have a coffee or dinner in the park in-front of Luxor temple & beside the Nile River

Isn't that?

Best of luck!

For every student of ancient history or Egytolopgy, I did this one for you. To think that the Great Ramses II and other Pharaohs walked these ancient grounds just humbles you. One is awed and amazed by this storied temple. Ancient Egyptians were gods, you cannot convince me otherwise!

A spectacular temple connected by an avenue of Sphinxes from Karnak temple.
We saw it at night, which gave the whole temple a different aura to it. All the inscriptions and carvings seemed to pop out of the structure, truly a great experience.

Great to see this huge part of history.
Only one thing make you not enjoy in full - to hot weather.
Get ready - if you travel even in October - there is about 45 degree.
But place is magical. Must visit.

My personal favorite is Karnak Temple, though there is a certain magic seeing Luxor Temple at night. In the summer, the evening is a cooler part of the day to visit the temple and the lights enhance to atmosphere of the temple. There is much hieroglyphs on the walls and the lighting in the evening brings it to life. As with Karnak Temple the guides and security will attempt to take you behind the "barricaded areas", for a fee of course.

Great architectural temple. Read up on this before you visit. Visiting 45 mins before close and close to end of the day will get you good lighting for great pictures.

Stunning place! Everything is wonderful and we came in the morning around 10am and the temple was almost empty as you could see in the videos and pictures. My advice is that you bring your own bottle of water or buy it outside the temple otherwise, you will be ripped off 😅 also put some sunscreen because it gets hot! We decided to walk through the sphinx avenue until the Karnak temple and we were the only ones walking there. Before arriving to the Karnak temple you will have a barrier closing the path and a ticket counter for the other temple will be on your left side and they only accept card. After you pay for the ticket, a bit further you will have someone checking the tickets. The temple is not that big and we saw everything in 1h30.

We enjoyed visiting this amazing archaeological site. It was very interesting and educational. It helps very much to have a local guide who can help to explain the history of the site, its excavation, and all of the facts and figures surrounding the writings and statues.
We visited the site near sundown, and stayed a little longer to get photos after the stone structures were lighted. I would highly recommend doing that, if you can.
Plan on spending about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to see the entire place.

Situated on the east bank of the Nile River, this ancient marvel stands as a testament to Egypt's enduring legacy.

From the moment I entered the temple complex, I was captivated by its grandeur and majestic architecture. The massive stone pillars, adorned with intricate hieroglyphics and detailed carvings, reflected the skill and craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian artisans.

Overall, my experience at Luxor Temple was nothing short of magical. It's a place where history comes alive, and every stone whispers secrets of a bygone era. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a culture buff, or simply a traveler in search of inspiration, Luxor Temple promises an unforgettable journey through the wonders of ancient Egypt.

Luxor Temple, located on the east bank of the Nile River in Egypt, is a magnificent testament to ancient Egyptian architecture and history. Built around 1400 BCE, this temple is dedicated to the Theban Triad of the god Amun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu.
One of the most striking features of Luxor Temple is the colossal seated figure of Ramses II at the entrance. The massive statues, obelisks, and colossal figures pay homage to the pharaohs and gods of ancient Egypt, creating a truly awe-inspiring atmosphere.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture buff, or simply a curious traveler, a visit to Luxor Temple promises an unforgettable experience that will transport you back in time to the glory days of ancient Egypt.

Luxor Temple was once connected to Karnak. You can see the long walkway aligned with Sphynx. Dedicated to the god Mut, wife of Amun-Ra. A place of coronation and burial, the courtyard is a fantastic place to sit and pause. The pillars again make for beholden place. Alexander the Great built a shrine inside.

We had a great experience visiting Luxor Temple. The craftsmanship is truly fantastic, with a wealth of fascinating details to explore. Be sure to allocate enough time to fully absorb everything the temple has to offer.

The site provides a captivating journey into history, showcasing impressive architectural and artistic achievements. Every corner seems to tell a story, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

However, it's worth noting that during my visit, the temple and its surroundings appeared to be a bit dusty. While this didn't significantly detract from the overall experience, it's something to be aware of.
