Monastery of Saint Mary of Valbuena

Very beautiful place, a privilege to stay and the tour of the monastery is well worth the 3 euros
The hotel is very comfortable and the food good quality. It is a premium place in cost terms and I am not sure all aspects of the service live up to the premium price. For example when we arrived we noticed that the mini safe in the room didn’t work. We told reception. Nothing happened until we asked again the next day and made a fuss. On our second day we were sitting in our room and two young man opened the hotel door with their key an entered. We were shocked… as also were they. We immediately rang reception to ask what was going on. A mistake had been made and a family had been given the room next to ours but the key card operated both doors. They then reset the system and had to go to reception again to get the cards re set. I was told by the receptionist ‘not to worry’. I think this is an unfortunate translation of the Spanish because I wasn’t so kind worried as a bit confused and cross that out privacy had been disturbed and then I had to go to reception to get new keys!
Other than this our stay was good and we enjoyed the food on offer although the menu in the restaurant is a little short given the premium price charged

Perfect location for a wedding. There wasn't a single thing we could fault. The service was incredible, the location was amazing and it really created memories that will last a lifetime. A very high standard has been set by this venue and it was truly remarkable.

One of my favorite hotels ever. Beautiful location, the rooms are extravagant and the spa is lovely. A bit negative is the late breakfast (which is luxurious and wonderful) at 8 and I don’t believe the evening kitchen is up to the standard of the hotel. Still 5/5.

Beautiful monastery-turned-inn at the heart of Ribera del Duero wine country. Nice food and local wine, lovely tiny little town with *a* bar, church, and a shop—this not for nightlife! Go to the wineries. Bathe in the thermal baths. Walk, run or cycle along the gorgeous paths. Perfect place to escape for a vacation!

Amazing hotel in a historical building.

Lovely, clean hotel. Amazing facilities, the best spa you could wish for. Helpful, friendly and professional staff. Everything was absolutely perfect

This is a wonderful Cistercian building from the XII. century that the crusaders built to support the conquer of the Iberian Peninsula against the califas of Al-Andalus. The building itself has a strong German character, in line of the Holy Roman Empire. I think it's a rare building that really worth the visit. It has been partially refurbished as a luxury spa hotel with large bedrooms and a very high quality restaurant.

An Abby in Spain... Imagine. Now a lux hotel.

The monastery sits within its own vineyards stretching over various hectares of land. Truly magnificent building with incredible frescos. Beautiful cloisters and other areas renovated to receive guests in style. Private vineyard (in 4WD) and winery tours to learn about their own wines. Stunning winery concept not to be missed. Definitely worth a stop off even if it is to only visit the winery!

This is such a special place. This was my second time and it meets and exceeds all expectations. The waters are relaxing, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is really perfect

Very nice and calm hotel in a historic splendid old monastry. Easy access by road to main highlights in the Ribera de Duero region. Good restaurant and convenient spa.

Great hotel. Very good spa, although not complete unless you pay upgrades. An espectacular venue for weddings.

A fabulous place.. Full of history and charm.. Beautifully restored and offering a wonderful experience. Close to local wineries and nature trails along the Duero River...
