La Gallineta

It’s a beautiful place to have a superb dinner. I really like the decoration, the art exposition they have in place and the food is just incredible. The service is very kind and attentive to every detail. The selection of starters and specially the rices are their domain. The experience is a must if you are in Cabo de Gata area.

We make it a point to come here every year. The food is excellent and David and co. add new dishes each time we visit. It’s worth the drive, flight, whatever you have to do to find a couple hours to sit in the garden and unwind a little. No podemos esperar a volver este verano!

Best place to eat in the Cabo de Gata region. Great food and excellent service. A bit pricier than most restaurants in the area but great value for money. The appetizers and the paellas are great.

A fantastic meal with fantastic hosts. We went with our son and his fiancee on 27th December. We started our meal outside in the beautiful enclosed patio then moved inside for further courses when it became a bit chill. Nothing was too much bother for the staff. The food was cooked perfectly and imaginatively, echoing and fusing the owner's global travels with local ingredients and dishes. We highly recommend a visit.

We had a very good dinner here. The staff was very very friendly and willing to give us advise what to take. The food was more expensive then elsewhere but also of much higher quality. It was very tasteful and surprising. We enjoyed our evening here.

La Gallineta is an outstanding restaurant. David and his Ecuadorean wife (sorry I cannot recall her name) are excellent hosts. We did not know what to chose so we left it in David's hands and oh wow it was good. Who knew Ajo Blanco (chilled almond soup) with a melon sorbet could be so amazing?! This place would hold its own against top restaurants anywhere. Yes, it is a bit more pricey than others in the area but it is worth every euro. We had 4 courses, an excellent bottle of wine and it came to about 125 euros for 2 of us (40 of which was the wine). The chefs are from Southern Europe, North Africa and South America and you get an amazing blend of their collective experience. Cannot recommend it enough. Thank you David and we hope you have a well earned winter break.

We were recommended La Gallineta by my son who owns Little Agave B&B nearby. We had a lovely welcome which was followed by excellent service.And the food was first class; really delicious including the little anchovy treat to start us off. We had four dishes, all of them beautifully balanced and spiced...although never too much. Just right. I Will certainly be back and recommend your restaurant to any friends of mine who come to the Cabo de Gata; this was definitely the best dinner we have had in the area. Fabulous food, very friendly people and lovely atmosphere. If you are in the Cabo de Gata region and enjoy fine food this restaurant is a must.

Hands down the best restaurant in the area. David, the owner, is impressively careful of his customers and genuinely seeking our comfort. Upon arrival, he asked us if we preferred a ambient temperature table or one close to the heating. He listened to our enquiries (pregnancy) and adapted the menu accordingly.

He has two types of menus: local from Andalusia and foreign from his travels across the globe. The restaurant is closed part of the winter which leaves them time to travel and discover new dishes, which they later translate into new offerings.

The style is unique too, I loved the chairs and the tiles. The photos on the wall are from their travel and they even have a special frame with the different layers of the wall illustrating the history of the building. Their wine carts cover is a picture of the floor tiles, amazing detail.

The price is around what you'd pay for an average menu in Western Europe, but the food is just sooooo much better.

I cannot recommend it enough!!!

So good we went twice. The keyword here is 'care'. The management and staff (BIG THANK YOU TO ALEJANDRO FOR THE SUPERIOR SERVICE) care SO much about the customers, the food, and the quality of what they serve. In three weeks of travelling around Andalusia, La Gallieta has been the best. Really inventive dishes that work so well (Ajo Blanco with a melon sorbet gets a special recommendation).

Do not think twice, reserve your table before someone else gets there ahead of you.

Excellent food and service, all with great care and attention. Flavors were sophisticated, wine at a reasonable price and venue very well decorated - blending in nicely in the middle of the village. And I am a local :) Great job, we'll be back soon!

We discovered this gem 12 years ago and were delighted to find out that it is still running! The food is superb, with a delightful combination of local and international flavors; and the atmosphere is out of a dream, with a beautifully decorated breezy patio perfect for summer nights!

A rare find!! Magnificent restaurant with amazing food and great service! The waitress was very pleasant and thoughtful. It was a really beautiful experience with good value for money.
