They show excellent knowledge about the cases we've been trough. The anly thing that REALLY needs improvement is the time-to-reaction. I wait for answers for over a few months now.

I agree with other comments on here that communication is very hit and miss and needs greatly improving. Lextax did my tax return for my property rental for 2018 and all seemed to be OK. However I have since had a large tax bill and have been told I cannot claim back the expenses against my rental that was submitted. I have tried and tried to get Lextax to look into this to no avail. I have sent urgent emails and tried to meet them when I was in Xabia but nothing. After further investigation from my solicitor it appears that the return was not done properly and Lextax are just ignoring me. I would avoid this company.

In my opinion, Lex are good at what they do in terms of tax returns etc. However, due to the fact that they offer extremely poor and untimely communication (fact: response times to email enquiries can be over a week, sometimes 2 weeks plus), you never really know what is happening in terms of returns, submissions etc and therefore never really know where you are in terms of your tax position etc in Spain.

In my opinion, in terms of explaining Spanish tax and creating a plan for the future Lex are not very organised and as a result I found myself constantly asking the same questions and still not really having an overall picture of the whole tax situation....very confusing.

Fact: for example, our company missed the chance to claim back our IVA for 2017/18 years due to very poor communication.

Finally, our company does owe them some missed payments for various months and we have tried to repay these amounts...they were good at arranging repayment plans.

We have now terminated our agreement by mutual consent but as a result of owing them a small amount of money (not sure how much as not received a clear invoice yet after almost 6 months) they will not allow us to take on another accountant in Spain to act for us because they will not release our tax details to another accountant......

Is this allowed?..... surely a restriction of trade........

To repeat....Lex will not allow us to use another Spanish or UK accountant to manage our Spanish tax affairs until we repay the debt to them in full.......

We are now in the process of lodging a complaint with the appropriate accounting body in Spain against Lex as a result of this action.

A disappointing end to a 3 year relationship with Lextax due to staff changes, poor advice and dilatory responses to enquiries.
