Hotel Arimune | Bakio

This hotel is one of my all-time favourites. There are really so many wonderful things to say about it. A few highlights: The rooms are large and thoughtful. It's much more like a 4 or even 5 star hotel in many ways - elegant, clean, very beautiful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and huge, and had so much care put into it! It was really lovely to have coffee and iced water available all day long. One can grab a cup and step out the one minute to the sea to drink it. Finally, the staff are beyond lovely. They REALLY care, and they're so very kind! I felt incredibly taken care of. I'd highly recommend the Hotel Arimune. Thank you to them for a lovely stay :)

When you are looking for a cozy, stylish, enjoyable, small hotel, Arimune is your choice. We had a brilliant time there.
You open the door, and you know that this is your place. The furniture, the facilities, the arrangements, it just fits together. You hope that it will be raining for days, so that you can just sit in front of the windows in one of the very comfortable couches and enjoy the books lying around.
The rooms are modern and well designed, sometimes there is too much home automation, but also this is arrangeable.
During the whole day coffee, juices and nuts are offered by the hotel.
The breakfast is delicious, most of the ingredients come from the family`s farm. Unai, the boss, will fulfill all the breakfast wishes you have.
Just outside the door is the beach of Bakio, where either surfing or swimming are a brilliant pleasure. And on this side of the hotel is also a great place to sit and enjoy the going-ons at the beach and the people walking along the promenade.
You wish to have a hotel like Arimune all over the place to enjoy this special atmosphere.
We will come again.

This hotel is on the water and has a beautiful view. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. They all seemed to be locals and care about every aspect of my stay, asking if I needed help often and offering good recommendations for restaurants. Unai is the chef and what seems to be co-owner of the hotel. He makes very authentic and wonderful breakfast for the property and was so kind and helpful during my stay. This was well worth my money and a pleasant surprise during the off-season.

Beautiful bright rooms and bathrooms, newly renovated with a mix of wood, stone, ancient and modern. The Chef Unai prepares a wonderful breakfast with only natural products: eggs from a local farm, delicious bacon, pastries, etc. Anything you need, the staff is always here to help you… they we’re accommodating and let us change room for a bigger one…

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Very clean and nice spaces to enjoy outdoors or in if the weather is bad. Adding on breakfast is very worth it, everything is freshly made and locally sourced.

It was a wonderful experience. A picture perfect, idyllic hotel! The breakfast from Unae was delicious.

Hotel is lovely and right on the beach - we watched the surfers from our room and walked the boardwalk in front of the hotel. Big rooms with excellent shower products. The breakfast is worth the stay by itself. Delicious home grown preserves and sauces and wonderful local cheeses and eggs. Unlimited fresh squeezed orange juice and endless delicious espressos and lattes. A wonderful start to our day.

This is a really special place. Old meets new in a beautiful house, simply and carefully restored with modern touches. The beach setting is magnificent. The breakfast was worth the visit alone, sourced locally and all presented with care and pride. Many thanks to Unai and the team for a warm welcome and memorable stay. We'll no doubt be back!

What a wonderful surprise at the (apparently) newly renovated small hotel. The rooms were large and beautifully appointed with superb beach views( the staff excellent and helpful, and the breakfast superb: local tomatoes and local eggs, wonderful ham; local cheese and the freshest of bread. We had a lovely stay.

A special place, with a lot of heart and soul. Unai the owner is a sweetheart and will take special care of you especially when you have breakfast. Home grown tomatoes, eggs from his neighbor in the mountains and more little treats like making sure that you get the best olive oil possible are just a few details that matter and make this a stay to remember. I stayed here only one night with my two sons, we surfed, we ate, we slept like baby’s. We could store our equipment easily and had nothing to worry about. We will be back for sure!! Thx again Unai for a stay to remember.

It was a great experience with a super nice breakfast (very tasty).

The dinner was incredible! The Monk fish was the highlight. It was served by the son of the family that has owned this place for generations. It was a highlight of our month long trip. A big thank you to the Arimune family! They made us Alaskans feel right at home.

Great location by the sea. The owner was friendly and welcoming and showed us around personally. The hotel is traditionally renovated, super clean and all needs are met. Breakfast was varied with delicious home made, warm tortilla.
