Casa Alongos

This was one of the best meals we’ve had in Spain and on the Camino! The owners were so welcoming and kind and the food was delicious. We got the grilled vegetables with avocado sauce, Iberian pork, and beef stew. All the dishes were so fresh and perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend checking them out!

Fantastic place for lunch.
Shaded garden, solid table service with proper menus in English. Waitress spoke English as well.
Recommend both the vegan/veggie burger and the chicken burger. Both are HUGE and no need for a starter.

I ate here on my first
Camino and fell in love with the food and adorable couple that runs the place. I knew I had to stop again on my second Camino and Casa Alongos did not disappoint! The octopus toast and zucchini packets are my favorite…and of course the sangria. Buen Camino!!

An absolute gem of place to stop on the Camino route! Staff were so helpful, friendly and jolly. Atmosphere is great and they offer a whole range of food to cater for different dietary requirements. The lentil burger is home made and was truly amazing! Their service was impeccable and it honestly made our day to come across such a place on a long day's walk!

Terrific choices. Some standards Galician fare as well as Vegetarian options. Food is delicious and well put together! Partridge and chestnut combo/ cabbage and roasted goat cheese! On the way into central Melide along the Camino.

We LOVED this place. Beautiful little restaurant with fantastic food and outstanding service! I’ll come back to the area just to eat there again.

We had dinner here on a girls’ trip walking the Camino de Santiago, and it was by far the best place we’ve eaten! We ordered a delightful pitcher of sangria, octopus (a specialty of this region but something we were skeptical of), and four separate plates that were equally as delicious. After dinner, and fun conversation with the chef and waiter, we had to order one of each of the desserts. A beautiful setting with wonderful staff - the best!!

We initially stopped for a drink whilst our travel companion chose a grilled vegetable lunch. Seeing the great freshly cooked veges we ordered a dish as well then returned for dinner having some local favourites of octopus and scallops. This has been one of the best meals on the Camino since Leon (and in Spain). If you have a chance try the liquor de herbs our first try and it was unique and smooth! Galicia treats 💕💕

Possibly the best place to eat in Melide. Server was very friendly and enthusiastic. I enjoyed the Octopus which was delicious although quite salty for my taste. Definitely a good option for evening meal. Also, is on the outskirts of the town so a slightly more relaxing atmosphere than some other restaurants perhaps.

Amazing night! Relaxing, friendly atmosphere. Delicious food and very fresh vegetables in particular. We loved it so much we came back a second night!

There was a party going on here when we went, which caused us to sit outside. The weather was okay and that was on us, not Casa Alongos. We had the octopus and Galician Beef Stew. I would recommend the octopus and less the beef stew. The octopus was a perfect texture. I would recommend this place for anyone hiking the Camino.

What a gem of a place. Great food, friendly staff. Highly recommended. Much better than most of the bland boring tourist restaurants in the area!

Amazingly fresh and delicious food! Francisco and Conchita are welcoming and we loved our lunch here ☺ a bowl of blueberry yoghurt and a cup of espresso is the best way to finish off the meal 😋 lots of veggie options too and allowed to smoke in the garden 💕 good for vegetarians and smokers, like myself 😝

The grilled goat cheese can make you go from vegan to vegetarian:) and then they have a gluten free vegan burger as well

Tasty local food ( I recommend the scallops and the courgettes), lovely service (also in English), and reasonable prices. And cold local beer 🍺 too!
