Platja de Villajoyosa

We came in winter so was a bit quiet, but a lovely looking beach, and loads of cafes and restaurants.
It’s certainly very colourful! Will be worth another visit in spring.

We came to Villajoyosa in March.
We were staying in a hotel nearby.
We walked down most evenings to look for restaurants that might be open in the evening.
At the beginning of the week it was quiet but got busier.
The beach was quiet but one day it was a bank holiday and it was busy.
At the end of the week as temperatures went up parasols and loungers were out and being used.

Definitely worth a visit. Not crowded in April, just few people. Water was absolutely sparkling clean. Shallow waters. Picturesque surroundings. Really enjoyed!

Love visiting this Costa Blanca town smelling of chocolate. The promenade is a lovely place to walk and the beach is clean. Lots of little restaurants and a couple of beachside shops but the delightful colours of the buildings make it memorable. Parking is tricky to find but a large lot at the south end worked for us.

Nice clean prom with bars and a great promenade,with nice sandy beach,good choice of restaurants and promenade is disable friendly as is all flat,fantastic local shops,escalator to get you from the beach to the town,has its own tram stop,
The most amazing colour full scenery,

Beautiful beach in a lovely setting with original painted Spanish houses. Lovely marina at one end and plenty of showers and toilets. Parking close by. Lots of places to eat and drink across from the beach. Lovely palm trees in clusters to provide shade. Play equipment and inflatable zine for kids. Within easy reach of both Benidorm and Alicante. Tram stops are not too far from the beach although it is hilly on the walk back.

One of the best beaches you can go to in the Costa Blanca.
The location is amazing because temperature oscillates from 20 to 30 degrees and you have an area in the shadows provided by a few palm trees.
The only missing detail is the lack of public showers.

The sand is magnificent, you have all type of bars next to the beach, is great for kids as the sea level is really low so they can enjoy the water calmly, you can have a cold drink on the towel as you have all type of stores close by, it has the blue flag all year round, loads of seashell to collect, the port view is wow as the ships bring fish all day long from the fish farm near the beach, for lunch you can have british food, indian, italian, spanish and chinese, it has quite a good variety of shops and restaurants and then most wonderful part of all near the Allon Hotel you have an electric staircase which lifts you up to the Cafe Valor for those afternoon when you are so tired to go up the hill into the city. You even have 2 spaces designated for children where they can enjoy climbing and swinging. On the coloured houses part of the beach you also have palm trees in the sand so you don't need to bring your umbrella and keep cool under the palm shade. It is one of the best beaches I've been to.

Brilliant place to visit. Old fishing town with lovely streets to amble through. Beautiful beach as well. My sister did this painting of it for me after we spent a few hours there.

Simply perfect. Fabulous uncrowded beach , good selection of restaurants . What more do you need ?

Beautiful beach, clean warm sea, not too crowded.

Perfect beach!!!! Parking directly under the beach itself, and during 6 years of coming here, we've never experienced not finding a spot. So not only is the car close by, but it's also cool being out of the sun. That - combined with the charming, pittoreske, multicolored beachfront with plenty of restaurants, makes this one of our favourite beaches to visit. The fine, soft sand cleaned every night and the long shallow ground when entering the clean, clear water - really makes not only this beach, but all of nine beaches around the small fishing village of Villajoyosa deserve The Blue Ribbon (a European award for high quality, standard, clean sand and water etc.) which they all have received. This beach - or in fact - this whole area, is sincerely worth checking out. Whatever you're looking for, from beaches with activities, opportunities for water-sports and a social atmosphere - all the way to small, isolated and hidden beaches you might have almost to yourself. Feels very local and the smell of chocolate in the air is very different.

Excellent. The clean sand, the warm Mediterranean sea and its not full of people.
You can enjoy typical spanish foods (or just eat a burguer or a pizza) in the restaurants that are all over the little town or in the beach (with sea view).

Lovely village, very Spanish. Avoid the British bars and restaurants, plenty of Spanish bars and restaurants to choose from. Enjoy the beautifull colored houses, enjoy the stunning wide beach.
