Restaurante Albar

We spent a week at the hotel and ended up having dinner every night here. The food is really good and service is just great. We tried almost everything from the menu, and honestly you just can't go wrong. The ribs, the pizza (ask for the pepperoni with jalapeños extra), the pork with leek and bacon (só tender), the fig chicken, I can go on and on. Also the veggie option lentil curry was really nice. BUT, you can't leave without having tried the aubergine chips though, your life isn't complete without these!

Such a lovely place. Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Tranquil. Picturesque. Lovely setting. Owner very nice. Food excellent. Everything was simply great.

Excellent plus is the only way to describe this wonderful hotel and restaurant. Probably the very best in this part of Spain. The owners are fantastic they made us extremely welcome and even decorated our table as it was my wife's birthday. Definitely a must visit.

Great place in the hills Slow cooking in the wood fired oven gives the food a unique flavor not offered by other restaurants. Recipes from the local villagers for everyone to enjoy.

The Albar is the perfect resturant to wine and dine,it's in a perfect setting in a small village surrounded by nature..The boutique hotel is beautiful too..

Lovely meal with lovely people for a very good price. Would recommend anybody to have a go.

Lovely setting, gorgeous pizzas and salads (but offering much more than that too), nice beers served in chilled glasses (yay) and great/friendly service. We will be back next time we're nearby, for sure.

My partner and I had our first Christmas at Albar and it was fantastic. The food and the accommodation was amazing. Also Rachael, Clayton and their staff were so accommodating and made it a wonderful experience to remember. Highly recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic rustic dining experience. The hosts and owners could not be more accomodating ... Extensive menu of mostly locally sourced produce and very good drinks selection.
The food was lovingly cooked in an open kitchen and was a delight.
The building itself is a credit of tasteful renovation into a warm and welcoming environment that makes you instantly feel the charm of rural Spanish living. A great dining experience and one we will repeat soon.

Well, what can I say, A fabulous place, fabulous rooms, fabulous hosts and fabulous food all at a brilliant price. The staff could not have been more accommodating, I have special dietary needs and they provided me with the best food I have had in a long time. The surrounding area is breath-taking, with plenty to do and see within a short drive. Or as we did most of the time, just enjoyed the relaxing and tranquil environment. We stayed there for 9 days and wished we could have stayed longer!. I would recommend the Albar Hotel & Restaurant to anyone visiting the Almeria region A++

Really nice food with friendly staff

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch and dinner at Restaurante Albar this summer. Staff were warm and welcoming and the menu varied and interesting. We had mixed tapas for lunch and then as it had been so nice, we returned in the evening and ate on the terrace outside which is magical at night. Highlights were the pizzas and a huge steak, bought to the table raw with a hot granite slab for you to cook it to your preferred taste. Amazing! Can't rate this place highly enough!

Fantastic food in a lovely restaurant in a stunning location! I highly recommend pencilling in lunch or dinner at this superb restaurant. The food is exquisite (I particularly loved the Solomillo con salsa Pedro Ximenez - yummy), there is a great wine selection and the views are beautiful. We can't wait to go back! It's also worth noting that they have a number of lovely hotel rooms available too (we've also stayed in one of these and loved our stay). Thanks to all the team at the restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic place to eat. Although it was quite when we arrived the service was first class as it would be at all times judging by the attention given to all the people who were there.
Going back to Spain in September and look forward to returning for another fabulous meal.

The Albar is a favourite restaurant for myself and my wife. It is a life-giving oasis amidst other so-called restaurants that have proven to be stagnant in comparison. Their art exhibitions, musical performances (classical - especially for ourselves) are way beyond what others offer. The menu is delightful and generous too. We cannot say enough about the Albar. It's truly wonderful.
A breath of fresh air.

15 min from the Circuito de Almería and what an amazing place to stay and nothing was to much for the host, Peter. what a great guy!
The rooms were full of character, clean and located in a lovely area.
The food here is beyond amazing. I had the feeling there was someone in the kitchen who knows me extremely well. This cuisine is personal and full of love - I was blown away with every bite.
I look forward to staying here again.

What a wonderful quaint hotel run by two fantastic hosts, Rachael and Clayton. With excellent food and local entertainment, it's a great place to relax, if you want to stay away from the hustle bustle of the coast. And if you want a great wedding venue in Spain they have a gorgeous mountain villa venue , speak to Clayton for more details.

An amazing restaurant, fine traditional Spanish cuisine with a particular focus on fresh local produce and local dishes. Try anything slow cooked in the wood oven, the goat, lamb shoulder, pig cheeks, oxtail - it's all wonderful, rib sticking, hearty stuff. The pizzas are as good as you'll get anywhere, the wood burning oven adding so much to the flavour. Excellent restaurant, wonderful boutique hotel / hostal, a very special venue for a special occasion but also a fine venue to call in for an impromptu lunch. We couldn't recommend this place more highly.
