Beautiful area with gorgeous views. Bring lunch and have a picnic. You can take your dog too! Parking is limited so go early! Tip: if the guard says there's no more parking left, wait a bit because as cars leave, they let cars go up.

Lovely forest with reasonable trails, lots of nooks and crannies to look around. Not the best signed for where to go, and the phone signal is rough as hell, but most of the rivers are clear as anything, loads of shade and easy routes everywhere. If you are not steady on your feet, could be a little hazardous at times, but I guess you wouldn't be going for a hike if you went capable. Enjoy

Be prepared to walk a lot, up and downhill. Weather was perfect when we visited. Lush greenery, fresh and clear water in the lakes, lovely little waterfalls, beautiful mountain views. Great smoothies at the small cafe, not too far from the monastery, to end our trip.

One of the greenest places I ever saw. Nothing spectacular but worth the visit.
Decent amount of effort is needed to reach the idilic monastery in the mountains, and you will appreciate more everything you see if you sweat a little, instead of just driving the car right at the spot. Beneath is the old roman bridge and little spring, that in fact is the scene out of fairy tale.
I dont understand how is it possible to get lost here like some people comment, there is literally one road, and two bridges along the way for those wishing to cross to the other side where is no asphalt and no traffic.
I also saw plenty of abandoned buildings along the way, wonder what their purpose was.

Worth the walk. It takes you about 8 kilometres to reaches the monastery. The walk is very pleasant. You can cross the briges to access a more seculated path way, away from the passing bus every 30 minutes. The view is absolutely spectacular and you can see some deers and otters if you're lucky. Most of the visitors are Galician or pilgrims.

🌳 Wow this ancient fern forest!

Get your hotel people to arrange a taxi to send and pick you up here!

It’s about 6km from the centro to the monastery, plus photography, approximately a relaxed 2.5-3.5 hours ONE-WAY (x2 if you plan to walk back out). Taxi can pick you up from the road nearby the monastery.

Don’t forget to explore the ruins nearby.

An absolute must for those travelling between A Coruña and Ferrol. This visit was a plan B, but we ended up staying for the whole day. Astonishing.

Beautiful countryside, well marked trails, easy to difficult walking terrain. Steep sides, long waterfalls and fast flowing rivers. Thoroughly recommended

There are several trail that you can follow. When I went it was off season and quiet, I imagine in summer it's full of people and you can do more activities. On my trip there were several bird species, I've crossed over streams, climbed hills. Because it was raining you could smell the fragnance of trees. I would definitelly recommend it.

Great forest park... bikes available for hire or walk the generally traffic free road towards the monastery. When you've walked enough turn around and head back to your car in the car park...

Well protected, southerly example of an Atlantic rain forest environment. Look out for Arbutus (strawberry tree) fruits and wolves! The restaurant next to the helpful visitor centre was closed in December.

Beautiful monastery and don't take the free bus to get there, you better walk through the woods...

Natural park. Really good 1h walk up to the monastery, althought they rent both electric and standard bycicles.

One of my favourite spots in the region. Lovely place to walk and hike. The restaurant by the visitor's center is quite good. Beware of the crowds in summer!!

Amazing walk through the country, some wonderful countryside, crystalline waters and beautiful waterfalls. We even saw a vole! Well worth a visit, very highly recommended.

Beautiful river and nice trails. The water is freezing cold and not suitable for swimming. The current is dangerous in most places. Popular place for fishing.
