It's a beautiful place to walk. I'd recommend going on weekdays as it doesn't have that many people. The views from the top of Peñalara are breathtaking.

Great area for hiking, mountaineering and just walking around. Accessible by train from Cotos Station

It's a beautiful place for an easy hike. Once you reach the summit of Peñalara keep going as there is an interesting pass with large boulders that makes it fun for newbies.
It's a protected area so don't strand away from the path and please don't litter.
There are several fountains which come from the river going down the mountain, you can use them for drinking but still try to bring plenty of water. Additionally it's better to rent a car as the bus service is highly unreliable, we were stranded for 5 hours and it's not the first time.

Wonderful natural protected area. It contains the highest peak of the Madrid region and of the Guadarrama mountain range: Peñalara (2,428 m).

It contains some threatened endemic amphibian species that inhabit delicate aquatic habitats, especially along the edges of its lakes. Thus these areas should not be traded on.

Try not to leave paths and especially avoid walking through wetlands. During winter, make sure to wear appropriate snow clothes and gear (hiking or mountaineering boots; ice ax and crampons if you intend on reaching the highest peaks).

Love these mountains and all the trails, great for those that are willing to walk up tough terrain, the view at the top is well work the hours...we keep coming back, so that must mean something...park is clean so please do not litter, we take backpacks with water and sandwiches and always bring our trash down with us where they have garbage cans. . Hard for small children these trails

Beautiful. There are few roads which bring you to incredible landscapes, I wish the way to get the place could be easier coz there is only 1 bus with not that perfect timetable, but it’s faster (1 hour) than if you go by train (2-2,5 hours changing 3 ways).

It's a beautiful hiking place with a lot of different routes and levels. There are a couple of nice spots to sit down, relax and have a snack. I really enjoyed this route !

A beautiful place to go hiking! Beware, in the winter months the place is covered in snow!

Take the 'tren de la naturaleza' up to the peak, then a long trek to the top, but worth it.
