Restaurante -Balearri Getaria- Jatetxea

Heard that the food in Getaria would not disappoint so chose this place based on the reviews. The food didn’t disappoint, absolutely incredible. Tried stingray for the first time which was lovely. The wine was excellent, a solid menu choice and incredible value for money (all in our bill came to €65 for two adults which included two wines and a starter .
The setting is also beautiful as it sits on the beach however a genuinely bizarre atmosphere. No need to dress up as people dressed like they’re on a Ryanair flight, outside seating is in a car park and one child in particular left playing on his iPad with Full volume and wouldn’t stop crying. We did what all true brits would and tutted and cast daggers. Would recommend !

The best meal of our 1 month trip across Spain. The turbot is the best fish I’ve ever eaten in my life, so well cooked and seasoned - incredible. And they’re dog friendly inside the restaurant, which is so rare in Spain.

I had the stingray and my wife had the mixed salad.
Excellent experience all round with fantastic views of the beach.
The waitress mischarged me initially for the fish charging me for 1kg when the fish I had was 0.5kg. I felt it was a genuine mistake and was not upset in any way.
The waitress was full of remorse, apologised and advised that the 3 glasses of wine we ordered with the meal had been deducted from the bill.
An unnecessary gesture but very much appreciated all the same.😉

Excellent "cogote de merluza" (hake back neck). With all due respect, the ingredients being pretty much the same as the famous fish and chips, the result is just superb.... don't go for the British option unless you're in Britain.

We enjoyed our meal. The crayfish tails were divine and I regretted that I agreed to share with my husband 😇 he ordered the octopus tentacles. Not my favourite but he loved it. The tomato salad was a disappointing few slices of tomato on a plate. Which was the only real let down. The cheese cake deserves an award. It's the best we tasted on our food odyssey.

Precioso sitio donde puedes comer disfrutando de unas maravillosas vistas a pie de playa, la atención muy buena, los pescados estaban en su punto, muy suaves, la única pega que le pongo es al entrante de setas, algo escaso para 4 personas y el precio algo elevado para esa cantidad pero el resto todo genial.
Recomendable.

Lo primero que tengo que destacar es la suerte de poder entrar con tu perro en un restaurante como este. Por eso ya tiene +3 estrellas.
Comida buenísima, calidad-precio lo justo.
Entre los postres destacamos la tarta de queso, la mejor que he probado hasta ahora.

Hoy hemos comido en este Restaurante, estaba todo buenísimo y el lugar es idílico junto a la playa. Volvería sin dudar, a cumplido de sobras nuestras expectativas. El rodaballo salvaje muy bueno.

Llegamos de rebote y la verdad es que nos sorprendió, para bien. La calidad del producto es buenísima y el cocinado excepcional. Nos ofrecieron medias raciones de varios entrantes para poder variar más y de segundo rodaballo y merluza. El precio es razonable y el trato excelente. Lo único a mejorar, la limpieza en los baños.
